I returned to playing Pokemon go, but when I went to look at my old screenshots, I noticed there’s a missing gym. There used to be two gyms next to each other, but now only one remains. Could I get an explanation?

Several things could have happened. The gym could have been player reported for removal if it met removal criteria. The property owner could have asked for the gym to be removed even if it did not meet removal criteria. The Wayspot location could have been edited so that it no longer qualifies to be a pokestop or gym in Pokemon Go. A new sponsored location could be supressing this one from showing in Pokemon Go. A game rebalance could have removed a gym that had been previously forced into a cell with another live pokestop or gym.

It’s possible the the gyms/pokestops were too close together, breaking proximity rules, and those rules have been reapplied. If you want to provide the location plus pictures, it might be possible to confirm if this is likely to be the explanation.
