Move Wayspot a bit towards the north

Hi, I would like to make a request to move a wayspot slightly to the north. Moving the wayspot will still keep it relevant as it will still be at the fountain. However, making this move will free up the S17 cell for another wayspot to appear (which is already approved). I humbly request you to accept my request, as we can definitely use a new wayspot in our community.

  • Wayspot Title: Hearthside Fountain
  • Location (lat/lon): 35.079018, -89.681483
  • Requesting you to move to: 35.079035, -89.681491
  • City: Collierville, TN
  • Country: USA
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): Attached
  • Additional Information (if any): Please move to: 35.079035, -89.681491. By moving, it still still stays relevant as the wayspot will still “touch” the fountain. But doing so will free up an S17 cell just south of it and allow another wayspot to appear, which has already been approved.

Welcome to the forum.

fyi, attempting to move a Wayspot which is already correctly located for game manipulation is considered abuse. Wayfarer is not Pokemon Go.

Wayfarer staff do not officially recognize S2 cells as having anything to do with game mechanics. Those are community observations.

Hello and welcome @pixelycious
Once a wayspot is in an agreed correct place you can’t change it.
Any attempts to do so are regarded as attempting to manipulate the gameboard and it is regarded as something for which your wayfarer AND game account can be sanctioned.
My recommendation is you accept the situation and move on.

@cyndiepooh @elijustrying Thanks for the info. I didn’t realize it was considered manipulating and that wasn’t my intention. I enjoy playing Pokemon GO and thought moving it just a little would benefit the players in my community. I won’t push the issue :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh, exactly! And the guidelines https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help/reporting-abuse-in-wayfarer just mention moving away, not to a different but still correct location.

  • Invalid location edits:
    • Attempts to move the Wayspot to a location away from the object with which it’s associated (for example, moving the Wayspot to a different city/country)

That’s why I try to get the word out! I was doing the same thing before someone made this clear to me.

Hey, @pixelycious! Based on our research, the Wayspot is at the correct location and does not require any adjustments at this time.
