They did have the Wayspot approved then removed, so they could have uploaded the photo to Google Map after the original approval.
yeah but I understand they would not take the time to do so.
I heard back from them when I asked if it was the photo itself that was âlow qualityâ and was told they were not able to provide me more specific information and was asked to read the candidate criteria.
I just donât see why this nomination is not allowed when rutes elsewhere are allowed. I see so many rutes with just a single trail marker and no name on the sign being accepted. So it is really like they donât want rual players. Specially when they first give one reason for removal and then when I make evidence of its existing they give another reason without being specific so I know how to improve.
Do u have map of the trail itself? Or anything to prove that this one is not planted to make waypsot
I really donât know what to say, as trail markers arenât things that I submit. There are others here that do submit them, and they may have some better into.
Yes, a map is helpful, but not required to prove that a trail marker exists.
Personally i still cant confirm its location. So i wont accept this kind of nomination if i see it

I mentioned in this post, the section 5.2 in ToS, which also handles your rights to your own content, which also means you have the right to use your content elsewhere.
SInce itâs obviously your photo and not a 3rd party photo, this canât be the reason behind it to retain a warning when they approved it.
The shadow, might be classified as poor, and could have been avoided by cropping as mentioned already.

Regarding proof it always on the nominator to provide as much evidence of a valid waypoint that convince the reviewer that the wayspot is eligible.
In this case a splash/360 photo, links to maps of the trail etc. could absolutely be helpful.
If I canât confirm the location by google maps, I really make effort to look around the surrounding to see if it could match the area, itâs not an requirement yet to actually have a splach/360 photo available (but it helps) - if I still think the wayspot is eligble but have concerns about the location i rather use the button I don't know and use the tickbox for location.
Hey, Iâm sorry if this has been addressed and I missed it, but I just wanted to check if you have screenshots of any emails you received regarding the warning, as this would have the most precise reason you got warned, and if this specific nomination was precisely referred to in this email.
Rejection reasons displayed in your Contribution Management page and rejections that happened at the same time are one thing, but imo the email is the place we should start at to try to address this.

This is probably because someone believe its using 3rd party foto. This is why people have been asked not to share the original photo elsewhere before nomination approved eventhough they might be the original owner.

So they now acknowledge the original nomination was not fake, and now I got the another reason âlow qualityâ
I then Asked what it that meant and I got this as a reply
It is not easy to see what is wrong. I do accept that it could have seen fake from the start but I did send them the scaniverse link and they said they accept it wasnât fake as what was I was banned for in the first place and POI removed. Now they give another reason without being specific so I would know what it is now and do better in the future.
Problem is that other players that comes by could very easily also nominate it in good faith and get a ban. I just donât get it when it was accepted without appeal in the first place, and then some weeks later I got this warning and it is removed even though I supplied proof it wasnât fake.
Personally, I donât think the nomination, even if itâs low quality, should result in a suspension⊠but thatâs just me.

I am really sorry youve been through this.
I am glad you have got Niantic to admit that this isnât fake. I canât see why it is of low enough quality to be a bannable offense!! It isnt low quality at all. This kind of nomination is accepted in other areas and I donât see what is wrong with it here
It would be good if staff could explain to you what happened and why, because being told via email that youre not allowed to know the reason is really unfair.

Did you submit this as a trail marker? Did you provide evidence of the trail?
Or did you submit as an anchor for a dog park?
I got the warning for 1 day. I am still able to play. Actually I got the warning 1 day with the first email I posted to you. After they said the nomination wasnât false but low quality I got a second warning for just 1 day and is able to play. So not a real ban.
Still the POI is removed and I donât know what is wrong when I have now proven it is not fake and they will not tell me directly what is wrong.
It is kind of depressing and honestly give the impression that they donât want rual players to play.

Yes I submitted the trail marker. I scanned it with scaniwerse as they asked me to in order to prove it wasnât fake. And yes I said it was a trail in a dog park. the dog park is listed on google maps and also has its own very small facebook page which really isnât used much. Mostly the msn chat is used by locals if they want to plan a social walk. so the facebook page is really not interesting.
Exactly. This wayspot is accepted so many other places and I canât get a reason for it not to be allowed here after they agreed it wasnât fake.
It only makes me think rual players should not really have a chance in their games.
Once this is cleared up if staff can message you more detail, it might be worth trying to submit it a different way.
Maybe combining the trail with the dog park signage needs more clarification- for example is the dog park actually organised as a trail? Or is the trail separate? Might be worth doing separate nominations 
But lets not think about resubmitting until you know exactly what went wrong here and what your status is with niantic staff because you dont want to risk your account by resubmitting something that gets you in trouble (not that I can see why this particular thing is an issue, Iâve submitted loads of trail markers and not had an issue beyond silly rejections )
If the trail is contained within the dog park then I would expect there to be something that says something along lines ofâŠ
woof dog park, green walking route, Ikm, easy walking. This would distinguish it from say the red route which is 3km and has a stream crossing. This sort of thing makes it clear it is a route with a designation/name as opposed to just a well worn path in the dog park.
The reason I say this is because the low quality part might be a view about the simplicity of the sign and/or your description.

But they wonât tell me what is wrong other than low quality nomination. First they said Fake nomination and after I did what they asked me to do they accept it isnât a fake nomination. Then I get the reason low quality nomination. When I ask what they mean they just tell me they are not able to provide any specific information. (all listed above in emails from them) So I still donât know what is wrong.
And no the dog park is not organized as a trail. But it has a trail in it because the place is also used a lot for nature people. That is common here that some dog park is also nature areas for people wanting to explore nature. But you will know that dogs is also allowed and you can see dogs running around free.
