I had a poi approved a while ago but its not in the game. Why?
I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:
I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. (The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed to my knowledge, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step.) (Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)
Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. The schedule for syncing in new Power Spots is not on a daily basis at this time. The last few syncs have been on the 4th of the month.
If you would like to leave the title and location, someone here with access to external resources may be able to confirm if there is indeed an issue with the S2 cells. But since the sale to Scopely has affected these Niantic (now NianticSpatial) maps being updated, it may be more difficult. The gps coordinates where you pinned the Wayspot will be after the second photo in the email you received when you submitted the nomination, but the pin may have been moved in voting. Do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location. I realize this is a lot of information to dump on someone, so please ask if you have more questions.

I see that this Wayspot is live in Pokémon GO as a PokéStop.

Weird. I can’t see it in campfire. I will go there physically tommorrow and check
Campfire does not show all pokestops.

Note to self: add ask if they have been to the location to verify it does not show in game to my checklist.

More like campfire doesnt show any pokestop, only gym.

it will show a pokestop if a route has been created from it.
Oh this is new. I never realize you can use it that way.. thanks.
But its kinda limited and new pokestop probably wont have any route yet
right, but being able to see some pokestops in campfire would make it perfectly reasonable for the op to expect to see it there.
this is another time when an up to date map of wayspots would have been helpful.

No view indicates its a pokestop they only show as route markers.

I didnt think of that. But yeah, campfire shows only gyms and powerspots. Thats right. There are no other stops close to it, only powerspots and since I can see those I just got confused.
Btw shouldn’t it be a gym if no other spots is near according to the s2 cells thing? Or is it the other way around?

Only after certain number of pokestop appear, pokestop might turn into gym
This is example 2gym, 16 pokestop = total 18wayspot. So i need to submit 2 more pokestop in order to create 3rd gym.
Pogomap is crowdsource so it might not be accurate but i fill in my area myself since iitc is no longer updating
Even though you fill out the map yourself, the map is not accurate and the cell lines are not accurate.

Did you read my post at the top of this topic? S2 cells are the usual reason.
