I checked the acceptance and rejection criteria and did not find and valid reason for rejecting my submission. I was not given the opportunity to appeal the decision. The rejection was not given a clear answer for the decision. As contributors we should have more precise and clear answers for rejected submissions.

Without seeing the rejection notification and the nomination itself, it would be hard for us to agree or disagree with your point. If you could post your nomination along with the co-ordinates to where it is located, we may be able to get a clearer picture.
If your nomination was rejected within 24 hours of it being submitted, you may have got a “Wayfarer Criteria” which means it was rejected by the ML (also known here as Emily). If it was rejected beyond 24 hours, the chances are it was either rejected by the Niantic Staff or the community. Remember, the rejection reasons provided are not necessarily the real reasons for rejection. It would be near impossible to get a precise reason for why your nomination was rejected.

You get two appeals, each with a 20 day timer before you can use them again. If you do not have an appeal available, you just have to wait.
I strongly recommend posting screenshots of the rejected nomination for advice before appealing it. I usually try to submit something at least a couple of times before I use an appeal.

Angry beavers trails are like marmite, some people love them, others hate them.
It’s random and pointless. It’s not worth wasting time and effort when Niantic employees seem to just flip a clin. They didaccept my appeal for a basketball goal in a church parking lot and called it a generic business. Absolutely ridiculous. Every time I try to give Niantic my free labor I’m quickly reminded why I stopped contributing.

No, it’s a basketball goal in a parking lot with 2 other goals in it. They said this one looks broken because the net needs replaced. That doesn’t break a basketball goal and it is still very much in use. It’s fine. I just resubmitted it. I had just started nominating things again and this is a great reminder of why I shouldn’t waste my time.
