Hahaha! Sadly i missed the actual downing by an hour.
I just replied back to staff on the original thread that you posted the removal request rejection email here, and to have another look at it.
Ok, point taken, kinda. So reporting removed in app is just verbal. You’re saying it should also be done here as well?
Thanks!
Hi. No, actually, until they cut it down i could reach it coming and going, from the parking lot across the street and next to it on the street. Funny thing was that since it got moved when it fell i couldn’t reach it from either spot. I gave pics… lol.
I could, and continue to reach it coming at it behind it ,pulling onto the side of the road.
I looked at Google Earth and the tower is still there.
They should allow a pic in game.
All the best,
M
No, not exactly. Links can be included in the comment box, as they are text, and the removal team can then view the photo of splat provided at that link.
First, you need to report the removal in-game. Now that there are comment boxes, you can include up to 256 characters, so a short explanation and link to a photo or splat can be included. This info is then reviewed by a human, and they decided, based on the info they have, whether to accept the report and remove the Wayspot, or reject it.
If you receive a rejection email for the removal and you have additional info, you can appeal the decision here in the forums. The forums should be the last resort when it comes to removing an invalid Wayspot, especially now that we have the comment box.
I recently requested the removal of a Power Spot in PoGo for a Burger King that was torn down this summer. Before submitting my removal request, I went and took a photo of the now-empty lot and the surrounding area. I uploaded it to Imgur, and they provide a short url link. I copied that link, wrote in the comment box that the BK was torn down, and pasted the link after my comment. The removal request was accepted, so there was no need for me to request removal here in the forums.
There is some additional info about using the comment box (keep in mind this is mostly about using splats, but photo links are acceptable, too) here:
Once marked “solved,” I think it’s better for them to create a new thread and if they want they can link the old one for note keeping but it isn’t necessary.
Mods can “unsolve” but that still requires it’s seen and time is available to do so.
The photographic proof from the previous thread is still needed, and there’s no need for the OP to repost them. They hadn’t yet when they opened this thread up today.
Besides, solving a thread doesn’t close it…I actually think it’s not always helpful for staff and/or OPs to mark threads as solved.
At the time, it was appropriate for the thread to be marked “solved” as no further action was needed at the time and it allows the thread to be easily filtered out when looking for open appeals…
This side conversion can end. OP appears to have collected what’s needed, no further commentary is necessary.
Thanks to @LetsRollGirl and you for supporting them to gather everything in this thread.
Hi @Mandrex! After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
