Water tower at NASA Johnson Space in Houston Texas has been cut down and subsequently removed. Oddly enough the poi is now moved from its original location as I can no longer reach from the street nor the parking lot…
Regards,
Hi @Mandrex, It looks like we haven’t gotten to this request yet or it hasn’t been submitted through in-game. At this time, we only take appeals to overturn decisions we’ve already made.
I remembered this from before as it was interesting to see the water tower taken down. I forgot that it hadn’t been resolved.
As a note we try and stay away from game specific gripes on the forum. But you might want to have your friend report it as removed in game. That way It’ll either get removed from the map or it can be contested here.
Hi. So why do i need a friend to do what I’ve done in game 4 times? Just curious.
And my email rejection let me put a reason for appeal, to which i wrote “still gone”.
Appreciate your help.
Just noting that it’s gone in the comment box isn’t always good enough. Niantic wants some kind of proof, be it a photo or a Scaniverse splat, that the Wayspot doesn’t exist anymore. And if there is no Street View or updated satellite view here, being this is NASA and a US government location, Niantic may need those photos.
Personally, when I request removal these days, I take a photo of the area, upload it to a 3rd party image sharing service (I use Imgur), and provide the link in the comment box. Since I started to do this, I haven’t had to come to the forums and request removal when the removal request is valid.
You were told that you didn’t submit removal requests in the prior thread, and this is the first time you’ve provided an email showing the removal request was rejected. There are steps that must be taken before Niantic will remove a Wayspot: request removal in-game and provide as much info as you can, if rejected then you can appeal here and provide the rejection email and, if needed, more info.
As I said above in my edit, I skimmed past your email rejection while I was looking at the photos. I’d actually spent more time looking at the original thread for what Niantic had said. And I believe you’d said at one point that you couldn’t get close enough to report in game.
