Navigating the Niantic Scopely and Niantic Spatial Transition - Discussion

@NianticTintino, Thank you very much for this update. Can you please talk about and/or elaborate on Scopley’s plan for an IITC styled map for Pokémon Go submissions after the split?

Hey @BlameJamal,

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately at this time there’s no concrete answer regarding an IITC-like map for Pokémon GO but I can assure you the request/feedback for one has been shared with the team leading Wayfarer into Scopely. The Ambassadors also did a great job of putting together a proposal type request for one so I’m confident the team has all the information they need to make a well-informed decision. As soon as I know more, I’ll be sure to share.

Yes thank you for this hint. But what about appeals? I still have a list of rejected submissions I desperately wanted to appeal, especially after the global challenge.
Considering that it’s the very last chance, it would be very kind to temporary allow us a few additional appeals until the transition is done.

The FAQ sure gave a lot of print to deleting accounts.

Did Niantic ever fix the bug where if you delete any one account, you’re banned from all other accounts? For example, if you deleted your Courts of the World account (because the game was going away), you were automatically locked out of Wayfarer.

I wouldn’t risk deleting any account. If you don’t want to play anymore, IMO just remove the app from your phone.

There was no mention in this FAQ, but I would like to tell you that an AG I know is hoping to carry over the upgrade from Wayfarer to OPR-2 (pseudonym).

I think you’re saying: hopefully earned (but unused) Wayfarer upgrades can copy to the new OPR.
That would be great.

No ingress sync reported tonight. Hopefully we still have time to finish out the remaining ingress nominations in wayfarer.

I just made the same observation, it means that the transition is already underway without us having had official information

I’ve had 5 things accepted since Tuesday (a waypoint, a photo, a title, a description and a location edit). None of them have come through on Ingress, but they are in PoGO.

@NianticTintino Can we have confirmation that there are no more Ingress updates when a POI is validated via PoGo ?

Hi @Elgambino35
There’ve been an update post:

so all stops that were exclusively ingress (and could not be a pokestop) can now be?

General reminder.
Please take some time to consider before replying.
I am first of all putting this in slow mode, so it can be reviewed.

Edited to add
A number of posts have been deleted due to the tone of the conversation.
Please remember that it is ok to have different views, but do consider if a discussion is not being productive.
I have lifted slow mode.

No.

It’ll be up for Scopely and the PoGO team to decide if inclusion rules are worth revisiting. To my understanding, it’ll be the same game engineering & development team.

They’re surely in rotation as possible to be Powerspots, though, unless they fail to meet those inclusion rules. And at that point, do we just have a game map that is fully saturated to where there are no longer spawn points in some areas? Seems mucky.

How much notice will be given before the transition happens?

Would it be something short like a week or so.

Or longer heads up months in advance?

This is the best answer that we have at the moment which is from the post this topic is linked to.
As it explains it is not something they can say exactly.

Thanks for the reply. Though that not the question I had.

The question isn’t WHEN it will happen.

It is How much notice is expected to be given once it has been decided.

I’m expecting it to fall between:

A) weeks
B) months
C) year(s)

I don’t expect the answer now, but when its been decided, I like that to be in the next round of announcement.

there are ingress stops that can’t be pokestops around here

and? being an ingress portal does not prevent something from being a pokestop. do you mean ones where the property owner has requested the pokestops be removed but didn’t remove the portals? the geo block will still be in place.
