I’m going to speak what’s on everyone’s mind, if you are actively shooting down peoples submissions then you don’t realize we need more pokestops not less, I don’t think there are very many scenarios where a pokestop should be rejected. Sure there are very few but still we all need to work together to approve as many as possible
Hello and Welcome @reynoldzblake
Thanks for raising these points.
It’s not always clear where the best place is to post a question or discussion point. As it wasn’t linked to the topic of the entry requirement of wayfarer I have split this into its own topic so it can have its own focus. I wasn’t sure where to place it so I have initially put it in reviewing support as I think it’s more about that, but please say if you think it is different.
Like many other wayfinders I go out and try to find lots of things to submit. So one of the goals is to get more wayspots approved and made available for Pokémon Go to choose.
I think your concern is what happens to those nominations?
Not everyone who submits reviews.
When people review we are reviewing to a set of guidelines around what is acceptable. In crude terms if we don’t review accurately our rating will drop and it will count less.
There are some topics that are clear rejects like schools and single family homes but there are a lot of judgements to be made so there is variability.
I currently have several nominations that have been rejected that I will be appealing. It happens to us all.
Have you got some examples of where you think the reviewing guidelines are not being followed? It would be useful to see the sort of things that have given you the impression that you have.
Firstly, welcome to the community.
I would point out that what we are reviewing here is Wayspots and not Pokestops. Wayspots can become Pokestops depending on whether they meet the inclusion criteria.
I personally want to see quality over quantity any day of the week (even if people do say some of my submissions lack any form of quality).
Also, I think we all need to work together to make sure those who are nominating, are getting the right advice in what they should be nominating.
We should all work together to help people who are reviewing to ensure they understand the requirements for approval and rejection.
I can see many scenarios where Wayspot nominations should be rejected, including lacking the criteria set out by Scopley / Niantic.
If you have nominations that are being rejected that you feel should be approved, by all means post them here and let us help you understand why they were rejected, or if they should have been approved, let us help you improve your nomination.
Hello and Welcome,
Correction, you are speaking what is on your mind. “Many” people here will disagree with you.
This is correct in certain areas but nominations should still meet the criteria.
If you was around a few weeks back when when the “Machine Learning / AI / eMiLy” was not working you would understand the amount of ridiculous nominations people make.
One of the bid NOs in the criteria is anything on School property. People where nominating the school!!!
Not everyone believes that making more spots will make the game better, IMO there is a sweet spot in the middle.
