Simple suggestion

Ultimately the system to allow players to create pokestops should be removed . Why? Because every single time I uploaded info for a new pokestop near my area ,it gets rejected and I bet I am not the only one that happens. I give up

Hi welcome to the forum  Wayfarer cn be hard to get into, but once you understand the rules it’s very fun and rewarding. Maybe if you share some of your rejected nominations we can help you make them better

Welcome @KingSchultz94

Your experience sounds very frustrating.

This community of fellow players and wayfinders is very happy to try and work out why you are getting rejections, and try to help you get success and ultimately get a better gameboard.

To do that we will need a few of your full nominations so we can help work out the issues.

Welcome to the forum! It is disheartening and frustrating seeing things you spent time on get rejected, but I found once I spent some time on here, and talking to other players that had been successful, my success rate went up. Little ways to improve the nomination and then how to write a good supporting info made a vast difference.

What a lot of people nominating forget is that the majority of people reviewing the nomination will have no idea where it is or what the area is like. So all they have to go on are what the nominator says, the images and Google maps. So it’s up to the nominator to really sell the submission and explain why it should go in the game. If you can’t even talk it up as being a worthwhile place to visit, that tells the reviewer that it isn’t worth visiting.

Let me give you an example. I nominated an old, listed building in my town. I could have just described it as a listed building, and that would have been accurate - but would likely have been rejected. What I actually did, was in the description I explained what the house had been used for historically (it was used to house the magistrate of the local court) and how they had a procession to get together court etc. In the supporting info, I included a link to the heritage website that showed it was a listed building, a link to a website discussing the history of the place, and then i described where it was and that it wasn’t a single family private residence. I made sure my supporting photo showed the house in the surrounding area so it could be seen to be in the correct spot when reviewer looked at Google maps.

A good nomination will take you a lot of time to submit - but once you get into doing that, your success rate will go up! And if you see something and can’t immediately think of how it can be a GREAT place to socialise, exercise or explore - don’t waste your time!

We would be happy to help look at some rejected noms though.

Wayfarer is easier if you change your mindset from “i want wayspot here” to “is this a good wayspot”

Why would you want to prevent everyone from participating just because you don’t enjoy it? We are happy to give advice here if you want to be successful, but not everything can be a Wayspot just because you would like to have a Pokestop there. We can help you understand the rules if you do want to continue.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Since you’ve made it here, interacting with others will surely bring you something valuable.
When I was a beginner, I used to search within the reach of the places where I spent most of my time. Why not try expanding your range a little? Try looking along the route you take every day. If you don’t find anything there, you could try taking the next street over. Or maybe the one after that might be within reach.
Is there a nice cafe or restaurant you frequent? You could introduce it through the game. If you explain why the menu there is delicious, many reviewers will give it a fair assessment. Let’s just try a little more.
