I nominated this piece of roadside art in front of a business. It is accessible, is definitely art, has become a bit of a local landmark for the last few years, since they built it. It is a giant flag made out of crushed cars. I suppose it could be potentially taken down, but so could any other roadside art, so I considered it to be permanent. Any ideas on what criteria was not met? I have not tried to appeal yet, but I will. Just trying to figure it out.
Oh wow, that looks really cool to me!
Can you show the whole nomination? Would be helpful to see more information about how you submitted it and what the rejection reasons were ![]()
I’d approve that, if the location and description were accurate at least - although I’d really love if it was titled “Cars and Stripes” because that title amuses me! It looks like a wonderful potential Wayspot, though.
If this was rejected by the “automated process”, it may be because it has never been trained that a stack of squished cars could be eligible. If nothing else is wrong with this nomination, you could appeal it. You get 2 appeals, each on a 15 day counter before you can use it again. I normally recommend trying a resubmission first, but with something this unique, it may require an appeal. Please do share screenshots from your contributions page before you appeal, so we can confirm there doesn’t appear to be any other cause for rejection there.
Cars and Stripes would be a fantastic name ![]()
Hello!
That’s an awesome Sculpture! When you appeal maybe go an extra step, make sure the title of the sculpture is the title- have you asked the business owner? Maybe credit the artist in the description—- I know if I’d make something like that I’d want to be credited too! If Pokemon go reflects the real world we should make sure we do our due diligence:D
Make sure this is accessible by any passer by !
Kind of want to see that myself now lol.
Appeals dont offer the opportunity to update these fields.
I like it, even has 13 stripes for accuracy. However I’m not sure how permanent it is, nor how safe the access. Google Lens does identify the location (I’m not posting it here), it’s right in front of the business in question and I guess a bit of an obstacle..
I ended up appealing before I read all the replies. I like the name suggestion. Wish I had thought of it. It was an automatic rejection.
I hope it works out ![]()
That’s a bummer. Thus I suppose one has to take it in mind as one is creating a pokestop.
Still new to this, need a bit more time to dwell in on the ins and outs.
Thanks Roli’!

Congratulations! Its a really cool PoI so I’m glad it was accepted
