Unlike Wayfarer team declaread, it is NOT vandalized graffiti, but a regular shutter art. I kindly ask you to approve my wayspot. It has also incorrectly been rejected for not being perament nor being culturally nor historically relevant. Thank you.
Art that is on shutter doors can still be considered vandalism, and it doesn’t seem that you have proven that it’s not vandalism. One of the best ways to prove this would be to make note of the artist in the title or description, and, if possible, provide a link that proves it’s an actual piece of art and not vandalism. None of this seems to have been provided in your nomination, as well as your appeal, although you haven’t provided your supporting info.
More info on vandalism can be found below:
The original rejection reason is due to reviewers downvoting on Permanent and Distinct. This should be looked at permanent and/or distinct, as that it has to meet both of these. A trash can at a park can be permanent, but it’s indistinct as most parks have them as a part of the infrastructure. A custom banner for a farmer’s market can be distinct, but it may not be permanent if it’s removed after every market day, just to give a couple examples.
Not being culturally/historically relevant is usually tied to those voting down on Appropriate and choosing Generic business, which this is not. We haven’t been given a clear answer as to how to reject something that we deem to be ineligible, but have been told there is work being done to rectify this issue.
The key is to provide the evidence in the appeal text before finalizing the appeal. There you should add the link and the context of it.
For example, the link given shows the graffiti by posted by someone in social media. What is the relevance of this post to the concerned appeal? Is the OOP the owner of the business, the artist behind this graffiti, or a random who posts graffiti as a hobby?
This should be stated for clarity as some pages also post graffiti even if it is vandalism, commissioned, or non-commissioned. If the business itself posted about the unveiling of this graffiti, that can be a better proof to show the reviewers.
I shared my photo with a friend of mine. She wrote everything she needed to, and it got rejected for the SAME mistake! What’s the point of having staff deciding if it clearly works against players and it doesn’t read?
You can try resubmitting next month. With different set of reviewer , you might got different result. Sadly this is the reality for things debatable or in grey area.
It is down to the submitter to show evidence and make a good case.
This is definitely debatable in regards to whether this is an approved “Mural” or not approved “Graffiti”.
With this statement you are saying that it went to a random selection of Reviewers where the majority “don’t know how to vote”, then after an appeal a member of Niantic Staff also “don’t know how to vote”.
With this I would assume it is that the submitter did not give enough detail to prove that it was an authorised mural.
I realize that you are frustrated, but saying that everyone else is wrong doesn’t get you the accepted Wayspot. Reviewers have rejected this as unacceptable, and it is up to you as the submitter to convince them otherwise.
In addition to some folks seeing this as just graffiti, others may think is is just corporate art.
Business signage can be eligible if you can convince reviewers that this is truly art. And suggestions have already been made as to how to do that.
I submitted an award winning local favorite restaurant five times and appealed rejections twice before it was finally accepted. Sometimes you have to take the feedback and try again.
