Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this! That’s kind of where I was at as well, I didn’t want to decline the submission just because the title was a bit cumbersome and could be better. Good to know where a veteran wayfarer sits on this issue! Thanks!
Example I just had in review
Title: “FXD Fitness is an independent gym with a friendly atmosphere and a great place for people to meet and have a gym session.”
It’s a legit wayspot, but I refuse to accept it on the basis that someone will correct the title later, because that’s never going to happen unless someone like @elijustrying is near there, and there’s not enough people going round correcting garbage titles and descriptions to rely on that.
Bad titles are really hard to fix in PoGo, and easy in Ingress. That challenge that involved editing and improving wayspots was extremely easy in Ingress as I just watched the activity on the scanner (lots of Machina) and edited the ones that needed fixing. In PoGo you have to walk up to the darned pokestop.
I do not like the “it can be fixed with an edit” mindset. Is the nomination before you acceptable as is? If the text is irrelevant, then it is not acceptable as is. Whether the text is irrelevant is a judgment call, though.
If we are going to accept “it can be fixed with an edit” nominations, then why have guidelines?
Edits can take something that is good enough, to be being good.
An edit is not there to save something that is wrong.
I voted towards rejecting one a few hours because the title was wrong - it made zero sense. So although rest was ok the title warranted a thumbs down on accuracy.
Completely with you then. The original must be “good enough” and it is up to the individual as to where that line is.
I’d love to be able to press a button and get something helpful sent to the submitter so that they could understand what they are doing (wrong) and make improvements. That’s impossible for so many reasons. It would be nice to treat garbage differently to submissions like this, but rejection is rejection without any nuance.
Niantic, can you hear meeeeeeeee….?
I recreated what happened with a rejected nomination I did a couple weeks ago; everything was perfect except the location. Well done with photos, description, etc. However, they put the pin in the wrong location a block away, and it was too far to be corrected by moving the pin location.
Does Niantic read our extra comments?
I like to type “otherwise eligible” because it wasn’t a bad nomination, just the wrong location….sometimes it’s a terrible nomination photo, but all else is great…you get the idea.
I suspect the extra comments don’t get read. They certainly don’t get and can’t get sent to the submitter.
When the pin is that wrong and it’s a built-up area with other wayspots, there’s a reasonable chance it is deliberate.

Will anyone ever read my comments?**Comments are available to Niantic Support and may be used if an additional review is required. The information may also be used to provide feedback to Wayfinders who continue to submit nominations that do not meet acceptance criteria.
Someone got a penalty in the past for repeatedly swearing at staff in those comments btw so they do get read, just not frequently I guess
If it’s just 10 metres shouldn’t you be able to to move it during review instead of rejecting it? Or do you mean it’s another 10 metres over the move limit?
Whatever the distance, it wasn’t eligible to be moved to the correct location so I had to reject it: “Accuracy” > inaccurate location.
Location edits on this nomination >100m are not allowed. If the accurate location is >100m, reject the nomination
