Hello again! I’d like to ask for your suggestions before I submit an appeal.
I recently nominated our community garden located in our condominium, but unfortunately, it was not approved. I’d really appreciate any guidance on how I can improve the nomination or what supporting details I should include to help it get accepted. Thank you so much!
Title: Cypress Towers Community Garden
Description:
This community garden is located beside the Belmira Building at Cypress Towers and is maintained by the community gardener with help from resident volunteers. It features a variety of plants—flowers, herbs, and ornamentals—that residents can contribute to or request cuttings from to grow in their own units. A paved pathway winds through the garden, making it accessible for walking and quiet strolls.
Supplemental Information:
The area also includes a designated dog potty zone, providing pet owners a clean and responsible space where their dogs can do their business. This shared green space promotes sustainable living, encourages neighborly interaction, and supports both plant lovers and pet owners alike—making it a peaceful and functional part of the community.
Reason:
This submission was declined by Niantic’s automated process for not adhering to Wayfarer criteria
This seems potentially eligible however certain details IMO would need to be shown.
While a geotag is present, you can also utilize the supporting photo better. The satellite map shows little green space near the pinned location. Having the condominium shown in context to the wider garden may show this relative to the building’s position. You can show:
Some activities provided are touch-and-go. Requesting for cuttings and dog potty stations may not resonate well with being a great place for the three eligibility criteria and may rather be seen as transactional/domestic duties. Highlight the leisure activities that are done within the POI, as in strolls and being a shared social space. It may serve you better to provided what neighborhood interactions are specifically done here.
In the scenario where you will need to appeal. It would work in your favor to reference any proof online that supports what you’ve added in the submission.
This paints a better picture of the garden. However, I’m still lost where this condo is from the satellite map. I’m trying to cross-reference this from the large tree and greenery at the background of this photo but none close. The streetview on this section of Mabini Street seems non-existent.
The one in the link that you send is the cabana in the other building, but each building has its own garden. The photo I sent shows the area where most of the unit owners place their plants, since there’s a gardener maintaining it. Should I nominate each garden area of each building, or just one? Also, each building has a signage like this—can that be nominated, or not? Thank you again
Keeping in mind the other advice,
Each building’s garden would cater to different people and is disconnected from each other, I assume, so it should be considered it’s own POI IMO. However, it must be apparent in your submission how to distinguish each one. Reviewers may see three similar objects close-by as one object.
I don’t believe the building itself meets any of the eligibility criteria, this sign also does not by itself or as the building’s placemarker by extension. The building is not directly related to exploration, socialization, or exercise but may have amenities that could be. That’s where you should focus on when nominating.
I see. Alright, if that’s the case, I should focus first on the Belmira Garden since it’s the area where people most commonly walk and visit, as most of the plants are located there. The rest can follow afterward. As for the signage, I won’t nominate it. Thank you again for the feedback—this will really help me improve my nominations.
