Hi Guys, I hope you have all had a restful weekend. I’m posting for some help in regards to new nominations in my local village.
Please do excuse me as I don’t fully understand how it all works. So I have loaded this above view map of the village using lvl 17 S2 cells. Please see image below as reference.
Marked yellow is currently a gym and at the other end of the church (more than 20 meters away) marked purple I had a nomination voided could you please help with this?
Marked red also more than 20 meters away this nomination was accepted but never put in Pokemon Go?
Marked Green is a current pokestop
Marked blue are locations that fit the criteria for new Pokestops etc (ie notice boards, village map) are you able to tell me which blue markers with their number would be accepted and if not why?
If anyone could please advise/help it would be very much appreciated, any questions please also let me know
You definitely do NOT have to do this if you are concerned about revealing your location, but it would be easier for me to help if I had a location I could look up myself on iitc.
This looks like iitc, a map of ingress portals. So there may be wayspots which exist that do not show there.
If you are asking for help for a resubmission of something that was not accepted, we will need to see screenshots of that nomination. Not sure what the yellow has to do with the purple in your question. Except these are in the same cell, so only one can go live in PoGo.
This is still in the same L17 S2 cell as another Pokething - the yellow gym - so is not eligible to appear in Pokemon Go. The 20m rule only applies to Ingress portals.
Do you mean which would be eligible to show in Pokemon Go? You have cut off the cells but it looks like 7, 6, and 4 may be alone in their cells. Expand the view to check. 5 looks like it should show if there are no hidden wayspots that ingress doesn’t use. 1, 2, 3, and 8 are all in the same S2 cell, so only one of those could show in pogo.
I am happy that you are talking about submitting them where they ARE. Some people misunderstand and submit with incorrect pins to put them in empty cells. That would be abuse. (I am only putting that here for others who may find this post.)
We can’t DM on here. Which terms am I confusing you with? Is that just a satellite view of the area and not the ingress portal map (iitc) with the pogotools overlay? I thought you just had settings wrong so you were not seeing the dots for the portals.
PoGOmap.info is easy to use but really unreliable because the map imagery tiles and the cell overlay are not aligned. Also, most stops and gyms are somewhat inaccurate as that database relies on user entered data where some users are not that thorough with doing it fully correctly.
That’s why people usually recommend to use the IITC and plugin setup instead.
IITC is a modified display of the map in Ingress. As Pokémon GO and Ingress mostly share the same points from Niantics general database, IITC will show Ingress Portals of which a lot are also Stops or Gyms. Together with the pogos2cell plugin, these Portals can be marked with Pokémon GO info manually, but the coordinates will also always be correct, so way less to do.
I am going to tag @elijustrying to see about help via DM. If you want a whole group of folks who are awesome with this stuff and helped me with it, I suggest the Wayfarer Discussion Discord. You can find a link to them/us at wayfarer.tools. Many of the ambassadors are also available there, as well as Nvlbl Nm from the screenshot.
