Why hasn’t my approved POI shown up in my game yet? Can anyone help me?

I got a POI approved but it has not shown up in Pokemon GO yet? Where did it go?

Hi @Paco85 and welcome to the community.

Do you mind sharing the location of where this nomination is? We may be able to tell as to why it hasn’t appeared in the game.

45.618087,9.216156

After a nomination is approved by reviewers, there is an additional automated review that determines whether the nomination is an appropriate fit for each particular Niantic game. Each game has their own set of criteria for this step, so some nominations may be accepted into one game but not another.

The most common reason that an eligible nomination is not added to Pokémon GO is because the nomination is too close to existing PokéStops or Gyms.

The poi won’t appear in Pokemon Go as it shares the same cell as another poi as shown in the image below.

Some will share this link (https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/) which explains how the cells works within Pokemon Go. Even though the poi may not appear in Pokemon Go today, we have no idea what the future holds, so it may appear at some point in the future, and other Niantic games will benefit from your submission, so there’s no shame in that.

Thanks @NianticAaron for the co-ordinates.

I have a question. I made submission 19th february and it was accepted 15th july. It’s still not in Pokemon Go and I can’t find a reason for that in IITC map.

Exactly the same reason!

Please explain better. I know lot of pois that are a lot closer to each other. Is there a secret poi that is not visible in iitc? Now it seems to be ONLY poi in that cell and not even very close to other pois.

Ingress and PoGO each have their own set of criteria that may be dissimilar and mutually-exclusive from the other. A pokestop can also be a portal but not always. A portal can also be a pokestop but not always.

IITC is an Ingress-based map.

It does not happen as often but yes there may be something in the Lightship database that is only in Pokémon Go. Pokémon uses a grid system so it is possible that 2 objects in Pokémon are literally within feet of each other and both be in the game. Ingress uses a 20m rule for its game. While iitc will show most points of interest there may be some that don’t show up, as it is a represtation of the Ingress play box.

iitc also does not show imported wayspots.

Do you see “Bikes on the Wall” in Pokémon GO? It is likely blocking yours from appearing. It is also within 20m of an existing Ingress portal, so it is not eligible for Ingress and cannot appear on IITC.

Thank you! Finally someone told me what i didn’t already understand and the way i understand. I’ll download Ingress again. I don’t play it and it takes too much storage in my phone, but i’ll check this when i’m going there next time.
Near this is poi “Galleria” which was accepted in may 2024 but appeared in PoGo few weeks or +month later. I had no idea why. It’s very close to other poi which is not in pogo, but they are in different cells.
I’m not living in that area, i used to visit there weekly, but now not even monthly and i don’t even remember which pois are in game.

No worries at all! In the case of this specific POI Ingress won’t help you as it doesn’t appear in that game though, what could help while nominating on-site is enabling the Pokémon GO toggle that would show you all POI. See here for a picture of the toggle:
