Description: Miway(Mississauga Way) bus map outlines the routes and allow trainers with various route options on how to get to local meet ups
Supplemental: The map provides the trainers with the correct directions and bus routes to take to reach the local meet ups. It makes transportation decisions much easier and allows trainers to spin stops and maybe do a raid while waiting on lenghty bus arrivals
Your nomination as been accepted in to the database. Whether it appears in PoGo or any other Niantic Game depends on the games inclusion rules.
PoGo uses S2 Cells with only 1 wayspot allowed in each L17 cell.
Your accepted email will state…
"Remember that not all accepted nominations will appear in all Niantic games (and may take up to 48 hours to appear). Also, community rejected nominations are not final! These nominations may be appealed to Niantic one time via your Contribution Management page. "
I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:
I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. This is a good article about S2 cells and how they are used in PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
(Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)
Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. We explorers haven’t figured out the schedule for syncing in new Power Spots, but it is not on a daily basis at this time.
If you would like to leave the title and location, someone here with access to external resources may be able to confirm if there is indeed an issue with the S2 cells. But since the sale to Scopely has affected these Niantic (now NianticSpatial) maps being updated, it may be more difficult. The gps coordinates where you pinned the Wayspot will be after the second photo in the email you received when you submitted the nomination, but the pin may have been moved in voting. Do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location. I realize this is a lot of information to dump on someone, so please ask if you have more questions.
Judging by that screenshot, I believe the pin would be in the same L17 S2 cell as City View Park
so would be ineligible to show in Pokemon Go if the other already is. Let me know if I have not found the correct location. I sometimes mess up these searches.
Hello and Welcome @thesairus98
In addition to the above and for future reference this should not have been approved.
You mention game play in the description which is not allowed so I 'm really surprised that it was accepted. Please ensure that for future nominations you avoid doing this.
Hey the title is Grand Park Bus Map, the exact location is displayed on the google map Grand Park Drive at Central Pky, Mississauga, Ontario, L5B 3S9. So are you saying that it would never be displayed as a pokestop/gym?
If that is the location, then no, not unless the other wayspot is removed. Do you have the exact GPS coordinates from the submission email? They will be after the supporting photo. I can show you where that hits in the cell if you do.
The outer blue ring indicates the distance we think is required for something to go live as a Powerspot, so I don’t think this can be used as one of those either if the pin is where I think it is at the bus stop.
It is possible for a pin to be moved from the coordinates where you submitted in review, but I don’t see any reason this would have been. Where you put it is shown by the red pin.
Also, not to say you would do this, but whenever I tell someone about S2 cells, I make clear to look for things that are in an empty cell to submit, not just pin something in an empty cell that isn’t there. People have gotten in trouble misunderstanding that.
this map is a map of ingress portals. since the split with scopely, this is no longer updating. to be sure if there is already a wayspot in a cell that looks empty here, you can check in the nomination map screen by turning the toggle on. you have to be standing right there, but it will show you wayspots that exist but are not pokestops or gyms, like this:
As previously said do not move unless it is inaccurate…..
And that is not how gyms work.
If your wayspot was the 6th in that level 14 cell then it would trigger a second gym.
The gym can’t be be a stop that is a showcase pokestop, but otherwise it could be any of the pokestops that convert. I don’t know the exact details of that cell.
