New waypoints being used for max raids

The Overture map gets all our submitted poi data and we get to use their… Reads back through thread…

Niantic? Talk to us? Never going to happen.

Niantic has, once again, dropped a set of low-quality data on us with no explanation and bare bones reporting tools (also with no explanation). I’m going to use those tools as I see fit.

There was a theory that approved Wayspots had priority over these imports, but this morning there is a live powerspot using the Google tag name right at an Ingress only portal that it could have used instead.

Why did it choose the import when the Wayspot option was right there?

Blue spot is the Powerspot

It seems to me that the onus is on PoGo players to report the invalid power spots, which is basically a conflict of interest for those players. If they get rid of a large portion of their local spots then they place themselves at a disadvantage. I’m also concerned that spots could be reported maliciously.

My bet is that Niantic won’t do anything until someone files a lawsuit over trespassing or personal injury.

Greggs seems a very high quality max spot as far as we’ve seen (for the non UK person, kinda fast food ish, selling coffee, sausage rolls, sandwiches etc)

It exists, isn’t in the middle of a road I assume, and isnt just someone’s house!!

I’ve always found it odd/amusing that reviewers and Wayfarers will apply Niantic’s criteria of unsafe and prp to an excruciating level of detail and yet Niantic themselves are happy to hand wave away the same criteria at even a basic level.

I’m assuming it is still there if it was ever there as I was on the train at the time.

Maybe another high quality artisan baker like Gregg has taken over the shop.

Some would say that Greggs make the best sausage rolls in the world.

I wouldnt know, because they dont seem to sell gluten free food, but everyone seems to rave about them

Oh thanks
I was assuming that Greggs is the garage that was mentioned yesterday :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Only 3? But you could get 4 for the same price!

But in this example you’re lucky that it is something of decent quality (i.e. a bakery) rather than “Trixies Poodle Shampoo Parlour” which is actually a shed in someone’s back garden that went out of business a decade ago.

That’s the exact sort of stuff Im seeing too. Best 2 around my way were a car service place and a chinese takeaway. “Best” Greggs is far superior

That’s almost enough to make me eat meat again. Not quite though :upside_down_face:

You lot with your poodles and car service places

I’ve got a 150ft rock face to climb in the mist!

You now have me wondering if that offer also applies to the vegan rolls haha

I dislike that Greggs cater to vegans but not to people who cant eat gluten. I love pastry. :pensive:

Although at least the vegans are lucky that they didn’t do the usual sad thing of combining the gluten free and the vegan item into 1, thereby disappointing eveyone

Not in response to anyone in particular

Much as Greggs are a Great British institution that I could happily discuss elsewhere i think we are wandering a tad off topic.

Indeed.

We should move off the topic of private companies that make outlandish claims about quality and service… Back to Niantic

I have seen a few Powerspots, can someone think of a more apt name please as Powerspots is really obnoxious , that are duplicating existing Wayspots but so far they have all been side by side and 3+ meters away from each other.
