Some of the older Ingress photos from 10+ years ago on Wayspots look like they may as well have been taken on a potato due to the advancement of phone cameras so I get your point.
However, I like seeing the old photos on a Wayspot and will often
a “seasonal” one where the playground was covered in snow, or the sun was shining just right on to the trailmarker.
So I wouldn’t want a brand new photo (which someone may put through a poor one as ML auto-accepts) to bump off one that the community has taken time to
and have as the main image.
