No poke stops

Okay so its so frustrating for me as a sick and homebound pokemon fan that there are no near poke stops or gyms to my house. I hate it! Its so unfair. Just because we live on the country side and doesnt have so many neighbours doesn’t mean people wouldn’t play.. instead its all just pay to win, pay to raid, pay to remote, i hate it and im economically seasick. Which i was before all this.

Hi. So, Wayfarer is a system completely separate from Pokemon GO. It feeds at least 3 games. Pokemon GO can set up any kind of features it wants to provide people with places or ways to play. For example:

  • rocket balloons come to you where you are every few hours even if you don’t have any rocket stops near you.
  • Occasionally, you will get balloons from sponsors that deliver stardust or items to you. They could send those more frequently.
  • Every day when you log in, you are given a research task if you have space for it.
  • You get an incense you can run daily for free.

These are all developments that did not exist when I started playing the game. If you need more ways to engage with the game, please reach out to Pokemon GO to request those.

I can relate to the frustration as I too live with medical issues which can leave me quite limited at times. Unfortunately, due to the very nature of games like Pokémon Go, folks with health limitations tend to get left in the dust. Niantic has actually improved accessibility greatly since the very first days of PoGo and they continue to add features that make the game even more accessible all the time, which is wonderful! Ultimately though the goal of the game is to get players to be more physically active and and explore their local areas. If your issue is with the very core of the game itself, maybe other Pokemon games would be more suitable for you? :slightly_smiling_face:

If it helps, when I’m having a super bad health day and can’t leave my bed, I like to do remote player battles! The rewards you get from those are pretty good, and climbing the ladder is a fun challenge!
