No public accessible protals should be reomoved

There are several Portals which have no public access. This is a company area or military base, there is no public day that we can say okay we kill that then. Is also not outside is complete in the city. There is a blocking link direct in our area. We can’t even check if it is really there.

From our understanding a portal should be: It would also be okay if you have to pay, but if it is only reachable by some people it should be removed.
Object should be accessible for other players (no restricted areas or private sectors);

  • Object is located in a SAFE PEDESTRIAN area (no roads, highways, etc.);
  • Object is human-made (no lakes, rivers, mountains, etc);

Once of the portal in the military is used by one play which was banned one time. This is his second account.

Not having public access is not a criteria for removal. Also, Wayfarer has nothing to do with Portals now. You may want to reach out to Ingress support.

WELCOME to the Wayfarer forum!!! Remember, if you are trying to get these removed from Ingress. This is no longer the place to do it. Ingress is now part of a different company. You will need to reach out to them directly for that.

That being said you do not have to have 100% public access for a POI to be valid! Hope you have a great day.

This understanding is not correct, at least not for Pokemon Go (Scopely) and it wasn’t correct before the split for Wayspots in general.

Wayspots can be on private property, such as communal gardens in residential apartments which only residents are able to access. Not everyone has to be able to access every wayspot.

This is also incorrect. Natural features are allowed. A few years ago, they weren’t, but the criteria changed. Natural features can be wayspots provided they meet criteria. This is definitely true for Pokemon Go and is likely to be true for Niantic Spatial as well.

Just because wayspot is only accesible to company employee and base personel, doesnt make it ineligible. You WONT be able to remove it using this clause. It only proof that you dont read ineligible criteria.

If its military base though, its possible to be ineligible if it might obstruct military operation

but the mail write this

I know and all the community here knows. It’s a source of frustration that the narratives have not been updated. For example, if you submit a wayspot through Pokemon Go, you get a reply from “Niantic”. Your email is another example.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the facts. Ingress portals can only be removed by reaching out to Niantic Spatial via Recon. And they don’t have to be accessible to everyone.

Pogo just recently split with ingress. Sadly its official but those mail still in process of separation.

It’s long enough ago that the narratives should have changed :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Well i am guessing its not that simple.

@trar The best advice for your specific situation. Reach out to Ingress if you are trying to remove these portals from that game. But as said above… the reasons you want to remove them is not a valid reason.

So, it’s up to you if you want to go down that road. But there is prob not going to be a lot of success there.

Some of it is visible enough from satelite view and seems eligible. If you believe they are ineligible, i suggest you rethink the case and find the ineligible clause first

If they are truly eligible, i suggest you to accept it, move on and plan accordingly

Hello and welcome,

The emails still say Niantic as there are 2 companies still using that in their names now: Niantic Spatial, who handles Ingress, and Niantic Scopely, who handles Wayfarer. Since the last sync on May 23rd, the Ingress map and Wayfarer map are controlled by separate companies, with Ingress under Spatial and Wayfarer under Scopely. More info on the split can be found at these posts:

If you would like to report any issues with portals in Ingress, you will need to contact the Recon team with Spatial, and the links for those are below:

Yes, it’s a bit confusing that some of the same terms are being used by both companies, and we don’t know if this will change. However, anything to do with Ingress is with Spatial/Recon now, not Scopely/Wayfarer.
