You may want to see my previous post about the 2 different challenges that happened last month, 1 being the global edits challenge, and other being the Brazil review challenges. There are links to the info for both challenges.
Please note that the Brazil review challenge was only open to those recently in Brazil at the time of the challenge, or with their home and/or bonus location set to somewhere in Brazil.
Even though this thread is in the Edits Challenge sub-topic, itâs possible that those that participated in the Brazil review challenge didnât receive reward emails as well. There have been others reporting not receiving Wayfarer emails in Bug Reports & Technical Support, especially those worried about not receiving reward emails last month.
Iâm french, and I see only now the english website. So I confirm, that I did more or less 300 reviews during the challenge, but I donât know how many were edits, because I didnât saw any counter anywhere.
Okay so we are talking about the global challenge. To be eligible for that one, you had to submit edits: add a photo, improve a title or description, or correct a location. Reviewing was not part of the challenge at all. So if you did not submit edits through your game, then you are not eligible for rewards. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Yes, I have noted who was eligible for rewards with the global edits challenge in my previous post.
Since ML, the AI system, was put into effect, queues for review have been kept lower than they used to be. So, Niantic had to get creative with the last global challenge, and decided to have us help clean up the map by submitting edits. There also wasnât a global or personal counter for the edits challenge on the Featured Wayspot page on the Wayfarer website, so users had to keep track of the edits they submitted themselves.
The Brazil review challenge was a new type, being it focused on 1 country and reviewers of that country. Niantic did note that they may have future review challenges like the Brazil one, that are specific to a certain area and restricted to just the reviewers for said area.
Itâs easy to think this since there has been a few challenges that follow 1 format⊠but the first 2 challenges ever were in this format where there were no location resets and only locals, or those who had open locations could participate. (Poland and Brazil pt1. (If im not mistaken).
You submit edits in game when you are near the waypoint, by tapping the top right arrow, then the hamburger button in the same area. Here you will see the edit contributions you can suggest.
You submit edits through your game. In Pokemon Go, you tap on the title of a Pokestop or gym. That will take you to a page without the overlay and you will see three vertical dots. Tap there, and you will see a page where you can âContribute to This Pokestopâ. You used to have to be level 38 to see this page, but we mentioned it at the start of the edits challenge, and I think that Tintino said it had been corrected. But that could be wrong.
Let me be clear that the challenge is over, and you cannot earn the rewards now.
Sorry for the same minute response @PoKAnApesh I swear we arenât trying to gang up on you, we simply tried to get the information as fast as possible to you. Of course like always, Cyndie is more detailed in her response so take her response over mine.
Thank you very much for the answer. I didnât know I could do that in the game. I thought the challenge were in the wayfarer website via the review. Itâs a pity I didnât see any example of what to do before the challenge. I think so many people did wrong like me during the challenge.
Here is the basic info on the edits challenge when it was annouced in the forums:
Info abut how to submit edits via the games is available in the help section of the Wayfarer website, as well as the Wayfarer help center, under How can I access Niantic Wayfarer? Here are the direct links for submitting edits via Ingress and PoGo:
Lastly, being youâre French, please know that you arenât required to type in English in the forums, as we do have a translator. If you feel more comfortable with French, you can type in that language, as well as view the forums in it. This setting is under Preferences > Interface > Interface Language.
