Now Arriving: Germany! (+Japan & USA)

It takes multiple individual reviews for one tick on the global counter.

Based on how I understand the Wayfaring terminology, something to keep in mind is that 1 individual review doesn’t necessarily equal 1 record resolution. The resolutions come from community agreement one way or the other. I have almost 500 reviews and only a little over 100 agreements so far. So I have only contributed to 100 “resolved records” at this moment, but I have the potential to contribute to 500 if everyone agrees with me.

As individuals, we are being rewarded for our review totals. As a community, we are being rewarded for our agreements/resolutions. The community rewards were always going to be much harder to attain.

True, I actually knew that, I was just too hasty being snarky  But compared to the last challenge it is actually easier to get the individual rewards and harder to get the community rewards. Now you can review edits which goes a lot faster, and last time there were a lot more local reviews (at least for me) which didn’t count towards the challenge

Full disclosure, this is going to sound SO LAME, but, for me, personally, I am fine with not reaching the highest tier of community rewards as long as what we end up achieving actually helps clean up/improve the map and lead to a better game experience for everyone.

I know that sounds like I have been drinking way too much of the “Niantic Koolaid”, but it is honestly how I view this whole challenge.

If we don’t hight the top rewards, we, as a community, should use that as motivation the next time around.

It would have been nice to opt-out of your home location. My location is not in any of the challenge areas. While my bonus location is. I do frequently jump back to nominations and edits in my home location as well as possibly upgrades and/or rural nominations. Also the lag and errors received initially were frustrating. So I can see why it was harder to meet tier 4. Props to those who stuck with it to get on the leaderboard to 10

We still have 23.5 hours left in the challenge. I hope Niantic will extend it a day or two, to May 23 or 24, to make up for SO much “RETRY” spinny nothingness.

They will not be extending the challenge.

Boo!
