This change would be up to the Pokemon GO team. This forum is only for Wayfarer issues. We create the wayspots and the games decide how to use them independent of us.
Pues vaya…yo pensé que vosotros podríais hacer algo al respecto sobre este tema
This forum is made up of fellow players like yourself. We can’t influence anything around gameplay.
Also, Wayfarer is purely to do with the map. Scopely/Niantic choose inclusion rules they wish to apply - no-one here can do anything to get them to change that.
You can try putting a suggestion into them from game help I would guess, but I wouldn’t imagine anything will change - I can’t see how they can change it for particular areas, it would have to change for the whole world. Actions they have taken recently suggest they are trying to push more and more to people meeting up with larger communities - increasing the number of stops in rural areas by changing these rules would be counter-intuitive to that aim.
Well you are wrong. I live in a small town in the smallest county in the UK. We have a population of around 12,000 people, and are so small we only just got a McDonald’s here 5 years ago!
As I’ve said, no-one here can help influence the game decisions about inclusion - your suggestions for that need to go to the game or you’re just wasting your time and energy.
Also, I’ve made the effort to go out and improve our town. I’ve had hundreds of nominations accepted, with around 150 betting us new stops and gyms in the game in our town. You have to be prepared to go out walking and looking for things to nominate. Every time I go out, I see something I missed previously.
Are you aware that they are testing a new way to add Pokestops?
Please do not make assumptions and stay respectful to other members, especially when they are trying to help with good advice.
That is correct but only due to the fact that there is likely to be more eligible POIs in larger cities. Read the forums and the criteria, there are loads of advice on getting more wayspots in Rural areas.
I live in a village on the edge of a small town, I also usually play solo so if I want to go for a Raid Day its about 3 miles. If you want to play the game you have to play it with what you have.
The already are with Bus Shelter / Street Corner trials happening in the US and parts of Europe at the moment.
Do you have a Church half under water? I visited your county around Christmas, It was Closed ![]()
Yes @SlimboyFat71 we do - Normanton Church at Rutland Water! I wish I’d known, I could have met you! If you came into Oakham at all, the majority of the stops there are likely mine… my kid says I went a bit crazy lol!
Aquí somos 500 habitantes. Y te aseguro que es muy difícil crear wayspots en cada celda porque aquí tenemos las cosas muy juntas y muchas coinciden en la misma celda. Solo tienes que ver el mapa de mi pueblo
That’s a translation problem - any settlement of 500 people would be called a village in (UK) English.
I agree, it is frustrating in villages that the cell rules prevent some wayspots appearing even though the surroundings have nothing (fields etc), because of the need to avoid densely packed areas in city centres and parks.
This is not possible in a lot of places. Our “Town Park” where I travel for Raid Day etc is the mostly dense place in the area but still has plenty of “empty cells”.
Study the rules on criteria, the thread regards nominating in Rural areas and the “Proximity Rules” (S2 Cells).
Then think “Where can I add 1 wayspot?” This way you could get multiple little wins instead of 1 large disappointment.
I agree this is a translation error - it would definitely be a village over here!
Whilst I have sympathy for those trying to to play in villages, ultimately it isn’t the game developers fault that you choose to live in a village. The wayfarer map is points of interest - and that’s what we are adding, regardless of cells etc. The game makers have chosen inclusion rules that they think will work best for the game. I imagine it would be a programming nightmare to try to set different rules for different areas, hence the one rule for everywhere. They want players to get together in bigger groups - so you tend to find communities in towns and cities as a result. If you live in a village, it’s better to try to get a couple of stops in your village to get a stop and a gym, then travel to the nearest town to play events with bigger groups and more stops and gyms.
