Not been submitted yet, but wanted opinions to see if this area would qualify. (Note: This isn’t the image that will be used for submission, and didn’t want to get to close to avoid getting awkward and upsetting looks from people). The seating area is for gathering, eating, etc. The location is in an empty cell, and have checked on Intel.ingress to be sure.
I would want to make sure that is actually “public.” Meaning, does it belong to a restaurant, or could i bring my own food and sit down to eat there and stay for as long as i want? If the second part is true, then i would vote favorably on that.
From what I can ascertain, it’s provided by the Council. It’s not branded by any company in the area, and the public can sit there and not buy any products from any of the surrounding businesses.
I wish I could see it from above. You might be able to get the pavilion approved and the decorated entryway as separate POI. But it’s hard to tell from this angle.
It’s not the best pic in the world, but I’ll see if it can be submitted without the people within it. If it gets rejected, no drama.
But do you get what I’m saying? You might be able to get 2 wayspots from this instead of just 1?
Yep. The seating area is in the same cell in Pokemon Go and within 20m on Ingress. I know it will go into the Lightship DB, but need to see if it’s something that can done effectively.
My opinion is it is better to describe it as a whole social space including a shelter area. 1wayspot.
I think the arch is a simple off the shelf, wooden arch, part of the surround and in the U.K. I would be voting to reject as it doesn’t meet criteria. There looks nothing distinctive or special about it. A level up from B&Q but not an artistic design.
You will need to provide some sort of link to show this is permanent.
In quite a few town centres arrangements like this have been installed for summer. Some will be removed and the space used differently in winter - Christmas markets etc There should be something that shows this as a year round amenity.
The screenshot about picnic benches is from the old forum.
That has been replaced by the current criteria clarification
