Park Pavilion denied by Appeal for not being unique

Wayspot Submission for Kenilworth Park Pavilion

Portland OR

Appeal Not Accepted

2025-06-20

Appeal Notes

This is a permanent structure in a public park. The top of it is flat and many people bring camping chairs to sit on top and watch the sunsets each night from here. This fits the criteria for being a great place to explore as well as a great place to socialize. Thanks!

Niantic Note

Thanks for the appeal, Explorer! The nomination in question does not meet the Wayfarer criteria as it is arched bay structure which is not unique. We recommend you review the Wayspot Criteria and Forum Criteria Discussions Library sections before submitting your next Wayspot contribution: Wayfarer — Niantic Technical Support and Help Center and Forum Criteria Discussions Library — Wayfarer Help Center

Supporting Info

A great place to socialize with friends in the summer!

I got this to review. Isn’t this a restroom? I rejected it as a sensitive location.

lol no it’s not a restroom. There aren’t actually bathrooms in the park.

The small windows with frosted glass suggests it once was, lack of signage suggests no longer the case.

Due to the look of the building it is down to the submitter to prove what it is actually used for. Could be difficult as ideally it needs to be open but without people in the photo…

Good luck.

it looked like restrooms to me on the street view. if you resubmit, make clear what the lower area is used for.

Thanks all.

My appeal was just switched over to being approved.
