I think that in some places, noticeboards can be harder to get approved than others. If you submitted these, please feel free to share the full nominations, and we can certainly take a look to see if there’s anything that can be improved upon.

No, it would be nice to see screenshots of your nomination from your Contribution Management page first, to see if there is any improvements that can be made. You are just providing the photos, but it would be good to see the title/description/supporting info as well.

Hi @Brulumaco
I’ve deleted your doubled post.
The screenshots DTrain asked you for didn’t upload correctly. You need to wait until they’ve uploaded fully before you submit your comment.

The images did upload. I see that it was rejected most likely for being indistinct/generic. The historical/cultural rejection reason we believe may be someone rejecting for generic business, instead of rejecting for not being distinct, which is what the other rejection reason is.

First off, the supporting photo should be different than the main photo. You want to show the POI and the surrounding area in the supporting photo, not just the POI. Some may not think this is actually a real noticeboard if you use the same photo for both the main and supporting photo.

Second, you don’t have much for a description, so it may be a good idea to expand upon it by noting that it’s a place for people to post info about upcoming events, sales, and services in the area. You may also want to describe in which neighborhood this is located in i the description, to help make it a little different than the other one you submitted.

With these in mind, it would be better to resubmit this.

Correct me if I am wrong but the last ones look like adverts?

The Noticeboards I have had accepted have been official “Parish Council” notice boards.

I tried to figure out how to say this, too, but couldn’t figure out how to put into words that these just feel like advertising, not a noticeboard with interest for the community. I don’t understand how these meet the criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social. But there is the possibility that I am losing something in translation.

Doing a Google Lens search shows that there are notices for community events on here, along with sales and services offered. I noticed a dance recital, a film showing, and a music event. I don’t see an issue with noticeboards that have community events such as these on there, as those events are worth exploring to me.

The main photo has a bad orientation; it would be better if the photo was straight on and not taken from a side angle. The current supporting photo is ok, it’s just the main photo that could be improved on. The description could also be improved upon, too, like with the other one.

I did a Google image search and found that the poster on the left appears to be a poster for a discount sale at a medical supply store called “Sanitaria Fiorucci 2b”.

AI expected the poster on the right to be a stamp campaign by “Famila”, an Italian supermarket chain, presenting “ESCLUSIVO” (limited edition) cavalli HOME bedding and home textile products.
You have submitted the description “Municipal Information Board” in your description, but the use of this board appears to be for commercial purposes.

I was specifically talking of the last one that definately looks like advertising.

Regards the earlier ones you make a good point for acceptance, my only worry not knowing the local laws is whether they are being used legally for their intended purpose but I wouldn’t be reviewing in the location so worry over…

Assume it went in to local voting.

To me these look 50/50. If I saw them as advertising I would reject, if it was local events etc I would Accept.

The other possibility is how close are they to each other? If there was a line of these along the same street I would possibly reject as Duplicate after the 1st one.

I’m not reviewing them either, but being there are adverts for community cultural events as well as sales and services, it seems that they can be used by almost anyone wanting to advertise something. There’s more adverts for cultural events than there are sales and services, and this tends to be how these are, especially over in Europe.

You really need to be more descriptive with the description. Describe what neighborhood it can be found in. Describe what type of adverts can be posted on the board, such as music/film/dance events, anything of cultural value that’s worth exploring. Even just noting that the community can use these to advertise local community events is a good thing to include in the description.

Think we are getting some missunderstanding…

In the 1st one (4 posters) this looks more like local events, if I was local and aware that this is what it is for then I would Accept.

Further down the thread there is another which only has 2 larger “posters”, these are the ones I believe are advertising and would therefore Reject.

They are the same type of noticeboard though. They appear to have been set up by the local government to allow any type of posters/ads to be put up, by almost anyone. These are common in Europe, especially where there is less driving and more walking/biking or use of public transit.

Regardless of what is on them, they most likely are open to anyone to use and post info on, as again, that’s common with these in Europe and other countries where there’s less driving and more waling/biking/public transit.
