Picnic area stop

I’ve seen lots of people say picnic areas are good for waystops so I can’t understand why this keeps getting rejected. It’s a circular area for 6 different picnic benches and tables in the middle of the countryside walk along the outskirts of a housing area.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Give it a better description and perhaps a more specific title and try again. Nominations like this might be a hit and miss.

Thank you - I will try that.

I’m quite new to this and noticed most descriptions of other local waypoints are short and sweet so tried that but will go for more detail!

Thanks again

I had a picnic table nomination in a business park that I struggled to get ML to accept. In the end I had to appeal it and the appeal was successful. ML appears to attribute sufficient weight to the social function of a picnic area if its physical form is uninspiring.

Hello and welcome,

Picnic areas can make for great Wayspots, and there is even clarification on them here:

I also agree about giving it a better title/description. Including something in regards to where it’s located may be helpful in the title and/or description. Here’s an example of one that I got approved last November:

You may want to consider including the name of the housing area or the trail in the title/description, to help it stand out. Just from the screenshot and looking around on Google Maps, this appears to be around 52.04776108932203, -0.8418257450128146 at the Fairfield Play Park; there’s an image for the park with similar picnic tables on Google Maps, and I think I can see them on satellite and Street View as well.

Actually, I found that this area is already a Wayspot:

Surprised ML didn’t reject as a duplicate, unless this one was recently approved.

I see same car in background. Maybe ur submission ald approved before

Yes thankfully got approved after I resubmitted
