Picnic Area question

I am curious what is the criteria for picnic areas, it seems ambigious and the rules vary based on who is looking. I thought an defined shaded area in a park with a permanent commercial level table and bolted in place trash receptacle would be appropriate.

For reference, these were rejected, appealed and rejected, then overturned. It is a single table on concrete pad.

Welcome to the community and it is unfortune that you found yourself in this situation.

Is it ok if I can see the nomination’s name?

Is it just one bench or an area with multiple benches? Also, the community, in my experience, is not very fond of benches that are not fixed.

There is a table, a bolted bench on the opposite side of the trail and a bolted trash can.

This isn’t the best title. I typically title the picnic areas I nominated with the name of the place it’s at first, then add Picnic Area or Picnic Table after. Here’s an example:

However, that’s just me being picky. To me, this meets criteria as it’s a permanent structure, and there’s nothing that says that one picnic table in an area isn’t allowed to be a picnic area. All the clarification says about a 1 picnic table is that 1 on SFPRP isn’t allowed, but this is at a park/disc golf course.

Hopefully staff can take another look at this, as I do find it to be a bad appeals team decision.

Hopefully this appeal can be revisited for you as it was for me :yellow_heart:

I have seen this before at my nomination. You have done good to post here. Hopefully the appeal gets overturned. Let us know how it goes
