Rejected appeals

Hello, recently I’ve nominated a few waypoints and, after appealing for them, they both got rejected. For one, I even got a notice that my account will be suspended if I make a low quality upload. I followed all guidelines for nominating both of them, I can’t see where is the problem.

Welcome to the forum!

I know it can be confusing when what you see in game does not match criteria, but this kind of tag is not eligible. See this clarification:

The same goes for business logos, with an exception for something that truly rises to the level of art:

The copy/paste warning is nothing to worry about. Just go look for things to submit that meet the eligibility requirements of:

  • A great place for exploration
  • A great place for exercise
  • A great place to be social with others

(Niantic Wayfarer)

Be sure to read through all the Criteria and Help information on the website you were pointed to in the response. And ask questions in Nomination Support !

The first really just look like vandalism

The 2nd looks like normal logo in repair shop

I think u should put more context about your submission. Personally i would also reject this

In this example, I don’t see a difference between the hammer address sign that @cyndiepooh mentioned and the repair shop mural.

The hammer sign is a unique sculpture. The repair shop mural is a logo painted on a wall. Which one would you point out to a friend as interesting can be a good way to look at it.

Idk. A mural is also a category in this system, and in this case it has meaning for this community. I really don’t understand the criteria. The other piece is commissioned artwork that residents of that building asked to be done, so the vandalism option is not viable. Also I got a notice for it I quote ‘‘The text or photo contains abuse, ridicule, or harassment of a specific person or group’’ and I don’t know what that is about…

Well if u want to resubmit, i suggest u put more information on description as why the logo is good wayspot candidate. Just stating that the store is 20years old is not enough imho.

They have recently changed how the rejection reasons show on our contributions page, and many of these are more confusing than the old reasons. I am not sure what this links to that reviewers have chosen in the review flow.

We need more clarity on this one.

That’s just the rejection reason displayed when someone rejects your nomination for abuse. That’s not the same as getting an email warning you for abusive nominations. If you got an email warning from Niantic saying you’d been nominating abusive nominations, that’s when you need to be concerned.

The categories you can select when making a nomination are not a list of eligible things. They do also contain ineligible things. A commissioned mural can often be a great place to explore, but a simple business logo by itself would likely not be considered to be a great place to explore.

The text spells out Dime, that is short for Dimitrije, I just got a notice that I violated the rules for that, and that the next time, my accounts will be suspended. I just posted a nomination bro xD

ty for the explanation!

Yes, I did get that, and I don’t know why. The submission was not offensive or abusive. This really stressed ne out. I am just trying to contribute to my small community. Shame…

Can u share the warning email ? Anyway u dont get warning for rejected nomination unless submitter believe you abusing the system. Before i know the reason for warning, i am not sure what to advice.

Sure, here u go.

It seems reviewer think its just vandalism. Personally i also think the same. If u really believe that grafitty is not vandalism, i suggest u appeal. But put in more proof thats its commisioned and not vandalism. U said u know the painter right, then getting the commission information about this collaboration project should be easy.

Your claim that the DiME graffiti is commissioned artwork is not credible. That is a tag. People don’t ask for tags. It may be short for the city name, but that doesn’t make it officially sanctioned. If it was official artwork, the artist would have painted it on a clean wall. You can clearly see the remnants of old graffiti behind that tag.
