This is a huge disaster happening in our region. 95% of nominations are rejected.
Because people in pursuit of getting 500 reviews do it in the fastest way, and simply reject all applications.
In the future, it is better not to give the opportunity to change the bonus location or somehow limit the time during which you can do reviews, so that people do real reviews, and not chase eggs or whatever they were promised.
In my opinion, ruining the lives of 500 people or more is not worth any premium gifts

what general area do you live in out of curiosity, I haven’t heard of such rejection rates in most places

If rejecting nominations (correctly or incorrectly) is considered as ruining lives… I despair what real life issues do to peoples lives.

You complained about a duplicate not being accepted:
Of how benches (just benches!) are not being accepted:
Of how regular infrastructure is not being accepted:
Had a hard time understanding how to submit a footbridge:
And so on. Share some of those unfair rejections.

Are you willing to share any of your rejected nominations? I think many of us are curious as to what you nominated and had rejected, especially if there actually could be improvements made on said nominations.
Also, not everyone doing the challenge is in it for the rewards. Personally, I just want to get the queue down, and no, I’m not rejecting everything I’m getting.
It’s also a little unfair to accuse others of something that there isn’t any proof of happening, as there are systems in place to monitor reviewing, so if someone was rejecting everything, staff would be alerted to this, and they may receive a cooldown, warning, or ban, depending on the severity. Basically, there are systems in place to catch anyone that may be submitting abusive reviews.
I’ve seen a lot about unconditional approval, but I’ve never heard of unconditional rejection.
I was shocked to hear that the ratings of users who unconditionally approved did not go down.
Any type of nominations that are completely acceptable, gazebo, playground, historical plaque, street arts.
We need sample for a précisé answer( sorry my english skills are poor).
But if we can’t change locations, we run out of reviews in our area and are SOL for the rest of the challenge.
You can change locations. Ignore the text in the Settings for Home and Bonus, just click the edit icons and change them. You can change once a minute during the event. Then within 48 hours after the event you can change back to your permanent home and bonus locations.

Without specific examples we can’t just accept that it is down to the challenge.
I only had a small number of outstanding nominations when it started and the results are…
3 accepted.
1 Title Edit accepted.
1 re-submit rejected again.
I would have expected any better without the challenge and many people have posted stating similar.
If people are refusing everything then I assume it must be localised
