Hello and welcome,

What we are actually submitting are Wayspot nominations, not stops/gyms for PoGo or portals for Ingress. Approved Wayspots get added to the Spatial/Lightship map that’s used by all Niantic games for game play locations. Each game also have their own density/inclusion rules: PoGo uses S2 cells, whle Ingress uses a 20 m rule. More on S2 cells for PoGo can be found here:

https://pokemongohub.net/post/featured/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

We’re more than happy to check the L17 S2 cell that this Wayspot is in to see if it will or will not be in PoGo. Feel free to post the location, and someone will take a look for you.

Welcome to the forum!

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to Niantic’s Lightship database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. This is a good article about S2 cells and PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

If you would like to leave the Title and location, someone here can check if this is the issue. But do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location.

Hi! sure, the wayspot is “Area de juegos infantiles”, it can be placed at 14.295495, -88.171793 (14°17’43.8"N 88°10’18.5"W), following the S2 cells

I do see it’s in the same L17 S2 cell as Mirador al bosque, so it won’t appear in PoGo. It’s also withing 20 m of this Wayspot, so it’s not in Ingress. The location in the database is actually 14.295547, -88.17192, Mirador al bosque is 14.295644, -88.172021.

I see this must have been moved in voting, because the wayspot shows here

14.295547, -88.17192

And this pin puts it within the same L17 S2 cell as Mirador al bosque

(It can’t show as a portal either because it is within the 20m circle of that portal as well.)

I am really stumped as to why this was moved but accepted. It also appears to be SFPRP (single family private residential property) to me.

It may be hard to tell, as there is no Street View here. But satellite view does seem to show this as being PRP.

FYI, here’s Mirador al bosque in the database, which again, hard to tell it’s it’s there or not:

Title in English is “Forest Viewpoint”
Description in English is “Tourist viewing point overlooking the La Esperanza forest, close to areas for camping and family picnics.”

There are forests surronding this city, but I doubt this is a true forest area, as it’s so small and next to PRP. Here’s satellite view to help.

For a wayspot to be removed evidence has to be provided to prove why it should be removed. That might be for example that it is no longer in existence, or that it is somewhere that is not allowed like a school or single family private residential property.

If you feel a wayspot has been incorrectly removed you can request its restoration in the appeals section of this forum. You can provide evidence such as geotagged photos as part of your request. It is important that in constructing your appeal you focus on why it meets criteria and is eligible.

Thanks for the help, i will do that. Wouldn’t be necessary if some ambassadors don’t abuse with their power and remove wayspots whitouth clear evidence.

ambassadors have no power to remove wayspots

Then who did it?

only Niantic staff can remove wayspots.

To clarify Ambassadors have no power to remove or amend anything on the database. Only the Niantic Staff on the Wayfarer Team can do that.
We are here on the forum to listen and offer advice as we have a good grasp of the wayfarer principles that are publicly available. We also moderate the forum by helping with discussions and when appropriate moving and editing posts, and in rare cases removing from public view any inappropriate posts in order to keep the forum a safe and welcoming space.

Thanks! now i get that. But please let me understand how this post was inicialy created to help me understand why an approved wayspot didnt appear in the game. Then people say it was because it was very near another wayspot, and then someone decided not to just dont place the new wayspot but to remove the one that was already there! Literally i came her for help and now i am with more problems.

I am the one who answered originally, and I did caution

I did explain why the Wayspot in question did not appear in Pokemon Go, and I and others also thought that the location was SFPRP, which is ineligible. I do see that both wayspots are gone now, so someone from Niantic may have seen the topic and removed the ineligible locations. Or it could have nothing to do with posting a topic here.

I can completely understand your frustration, but hopefully you are clearer about submitting on SFPRP.
