Alguém saberia me dizer se há possibilidade de aparecimento de futuros pokestop em wayspots aprvados, pois pedi vários pokestops de dentro do proprio jogo, os quais foram aprovados e só alguns aparecem no game, entendo que é avisado que alguns não aparecerão em todos os games, mas a partir do momento que pedi de dentro do GO o mínimo era aparecer no proprio game. Não sei se devo ter esperanças de que eles aparecerão algum dia, ou devo abandonar a mesma… são mais de 10 aprovados que não aparecem, alguns beneficiariam muito os jogadores da área.

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to Niantic’s database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. If it did not become a pokestop or gym within a couple of days of being accepted, then it is probably in the same L17 S2 cell as another wayspot. If you would like to leave a title and gps coordinates of an accepted Wayspot that did not show in Pokemon Go, someone here can check for you to see if that is the issue. I use iitc with pogotools (you can google those) to check cells, but iitc only shows portals, so can miss some wayspots.
If the blocking Wayspot gets removed, yours could go live in game still. And it also has the potential to become a Powerspot. So I think it is good to keep submitting anyway.

@cyndiepooh has given a link above to an article explaining about how Niantic uses the mapping software that divides the surface into blocks known as cells.
For Pokémon Go the developers created selection rules that only allow for 1 Pokémon stop or gym in any Level 17 size cell. So although your submission may be selected for the Lightship.

The spot is in the database.
However the dark circle on the Ingress map covers the distance that’s allowed between ingress portals. Your wayspot is outside of that circle so it should appear as an Ingress Portal. However it doesn’t. The same is true of

What method did you use to submit?
Did you submit from within the Pokémon Go game?
Or did you use the wayfarer app which is totally separate?
Wayspots submitted using the app appear in the database but do not get picked for use in the game.

I had checked most of these and were surprised that I wasn’t seeing them in Ingress, but had wondered if they were Wayspots that don’t show there, which I can’t check.
Did these just recently get approved as a number of them are now showing up in Ingress? It generally takes up to 48hrs for a wayspot show up in game if it meets the specific gameboard rules for that game.
Based on what I can see in Ingress, most of them are in occupied cells so they will not be eligible to appear in Pokemon Go.

Thanks. It had sounded as though they had been approved a awhile ago, but I guess it’s much more recent and Cyndie and I looked before the Ingress sync

We assume that people have waited the 48 hours mentioned in the email before posting here. I know I will do this again, but will try to remember to ask.
All these send directly from the Pokémon Go game, I didn’t use any application. That’s why I decided to ask for help and try to understand bette.

Right, we did not understand that it had not been long since these were accepted. They just had not synced in yet.
fyi: There is a time of day that eligible Pokestops will “sync” into the game. Max Mondays has disrupted sync, and it is often late or skipped on Mondays. Ingress syncs later than Pokemon Go.
So I must check the cells before requesting, I understand, I have to study more to make the requests, I found it more difficult than I expected LOL. Thanks for responding.
Good news! One of these appeared, as they hadn’t really had the 48H yet. But most have been approved for a long time, but talking to you I understood the mechanics of requests better. I’m really grateful for helping me.

I am very happy that Niantic is allowing us to share the information about S2 cells on the forum. It is so frustrating when explorers can’t figure out why some of their nominations are being used in Pokemon Go but others aren’t.
I do not think you would do this, but some people will try to pin something in an empty cell that isn’t really there. That is abuse, and I want to make that clear for anyone else reading this post. Checking the cells and finding things there in real life will help you expand game locations.
The ones that did not make it in the game could be used as Powerspots, or go live if the other Wayspots in the cell are removed in the future. So it was not a waste to submit those.
Understood, I’ll wait a little longer for those that are recent. Thanks for the explanation.

There are benefits to submitting wayspots within occupied cells for Pokemon Go outside of potentially helping to populate the map for other games. They can potentially be used as power spots and can become a stop/gym in the future if the existing one in the cell is removed for some reason.

I’ll keep asking for pokestops, to help the community in general! And now I understand a little better about cells and so on. I’m sharper.
