Pokemon go PokeStops photos

Hello, this is my first ever post on Niantic Wayfarer and I really want to bring up a problem with the photos used in these and some other PokeStops. As You can clearly see the PokeStops in question use really old photos that don’t match with how it looks right now. Please, tell me, can I do anything to change the photo to a newer one?

Ps. The current photos are both 6+ years old

Hello and welcome,

If you come across photos as Wayspots that no longer match what it looks like, you can use help chat on the Wayfarer website to request removal. However, keep in mind that if the area did look like this at one time in the past, they may not be able to be removed.

You may also want to review the photo guidelines, which can be found here: Photo Guidelines — Wayfarer Help Center

Hello and welcome @herbatapata1

Thanks. For raising the question.

You can add new photos to stops and then By :+1: the new photo becomes the default.
The number of :+1:required varies.
The help desk in Wayfarer will only remove if they are very poor or there has been a major change.
Of the photos you show they mostly are recognisable as the location although it looks like the olay park has been updated.

Welcome!

Your friends can like photos from gifts you send them, too, not just from in person visits. I believe you have to be level 35 to thumbs up a photo, just like to submit. (I hope someone can confirm this.)

In the case where the one showing the most votes isn’t becoming the disc photo, there may be old trapped votes. Back in the day, Ingress was the database. When Niantic switched to the Lightship database, some votes through Ingress became trapped to the Wayspot. You may have to get more votes on the new photo that you would think from the count in Pokemon Go to make the disc photo change.
