I would like to ask if there is any possible way to move or edit the location of a PokéStop after it has already been approved. I’m especially curious about situations where the PokéStop does not appear on the map even after approval, or if it seems to be placed inaccurately. As a player who actively contributes through nominations, it can be a bit confusing when approved submissions don’t show up or are positioned incorrectly. Could you please guide me on whether there is an official method to request a location correction or resolve visibility issues for such PokéStops? Any clarification or support regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
If a Wayspot is correctly pinned, then it is considered abuse to try to move the location for game manipulation.
If the Wayspot is not correctly pinned, you can use help chat with evidence to request the move. They will only move the Wayspot for actual corrections, not for game reasons. You can access help chat at https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help where a text box pops up. A bot will take information, then Ninatic staff will reply later after assessing the request. The reply will be in that box. The Help page is broken right now, but the text box is still popping up, so I think that it still works.
Another way to request a location correction is through the form linked at the top here under “Wayspot Removals.” It can also be used for modifications, and starts an email chain. This can be handy for people who lose the help chat history. I don’t have a problem with that, but a lot of people do. Here is that link in case it isn’t showing for you:
I think you are asking if you can force a Wayspot to show in Pokemon Go. Here is a good article on community research about how it is determined which Wayspots are eligible to be used as Pokestops or gyms. https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
On the other note, please know that missplacement of wayspot submission into incorrect location (in order for it to appear in empty cell) is subject to abuse ladder system.
But there are certain case where its possible to chose between multiple eligible location if the object is big such as sport field. Below is example. Assuming playground C and fitness station D already appear as pokestop/gym, submitting the sport field at entrace A will create pokestop/gym while submitting it at entrance B will create powerspot.
I suggest you to learn more about how s2 cell works.
But the question was about moving an already accepted Wayspot.
Yes. True. But once he learn about s2 cells, he might missplace wayspot into empty cells if he is not warned.
Just to make it clear what @cyndiepooh and @TjoeMi are discussing…
Knowledge of the cells can be useful when nominating a POI that has multiple correct locations (sports fields etc).
Once accepted in a correct location you should not attempt to move them even to an equally correct location.
Hope this helps.
