Hey guys, I’m new to this and want to get to know how everything works here. I already figured out how to nominate a pokestop and where to review it’s status. Is there anything you can do to speed up the reviewing process and how does that process work and anything else i should know about the wayfarer program? Thanks ![]()
Welcome!
You can speed up the process by reviewing yourself to earn an upgrade. An upgrade will send your nomination to a wider review pool, which normally means a faster result. You won’t get your own nomination, but reviewing can help get other nominations decided, bringing yours forward in the queue. However, there are some things you should know before you use one.
Your nomination will spend at least the first 24(ish) hours in queue. This gives you time to check it and edit it. If you need more time, you can put it on hold. If you use “upload later”, the time seems to be calculated from when you chose that button, not when you actually upload it.
There is an “automated process,” a machine learning model, which can reject your nomination. This normally kicks in at that 24(ish) hour mark. Or at around this same time, it may be sent to in house review with a status change to “Under Review :Niantic:” (that is supposed to be a Niantic balloon between the colons). This is standard procedure and is nothing to worry about if it happens. We recommend that you not use an upgrade until after this point, because it is wasted if either happens.
Now, when should you use it? It seems like every nomination has a grace period of 1-7 days where it just won’t go into voting, even with an upgrade. Reviews are going so fast locally, that I often don’t even need an upgrade any more. If it hasn’t gone into voting by the end of the week, I might use an upgrade. Or if I am impatient.
These do not look like very promising nominations from the thumbnails. The top one just looks like street signs, and the bottom just looks like a random spot on a path. If you would like to post screenshots of the full nominations, we can give better advice.
I have to agree with Cyndie, I am not hopeful of these being accepted.
Great to have you here @TheWildHermit
Looks like @cyndiepooh has answered your initial question and she and others can offer great advice on your current/future nominations. I would share full screenshots of your current nominations (title, description, photos, support) if you are comfortable to do so. Folks here have great experience and can offer ways to improve a nomination and/or identify better prospects.
I’d also recommend looking around the forum and reading the different discussions. You’ll learn a lot that way.
One of my favorite areas is the clarification set:
