Pokestop not showing on ingress or game in a free cell

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Parco Urbano

  • Location (lat/lon):(40.345464, 18.096956)

  • City:Rione Riesci(LE)

  • Country:Italy

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): the waystop didnt show in game or on ingress..its on a free cell..i have this problem with another wayspot too… this email was sent 5 days ago

Is this your Wayspot?

It is in the database at slightly different coordinates 40.344545, 18.096505. This location is both within the same cell and within 20m of Campo da pallavolo, making it ineligible to appear in both PoGO and Ingress.

yes they probably change the coordinates of my wayspot

Since the email says it was approved by “our team,” the pin wasn’t moved in community voting. I don’t recall seeing it before, but it would make sense that staff can move the location during their review as well. I haven’t really looked at the area though, so couldn’t say why they might have done so.

I can confirm I have had Niantic staff move my pin in review.

This is one they moved from the front door where the sign in the photo I submitted is to a random spot in the interior of the building where the Google Label is :woman_shrugging:

Premier Martial Arts
I haven’t bothered with trying to correct it with an edit, but I think my pin represents the poi better personally.

A GPS error is also a possibility. I discovered that the phone would upload the location of my car to which I was still connected even minutes after turning off the car. I’ve also have had the game record 2 successive nominations in the same spot. As a result, I always put nominations on hold and check the location either by the map or GPS location in the email.

Hi @Jock93
I’ve moved your topic to General Discussion since the Wayspot Appeals category is for rejected removal requests or to ask for reinstating removed wayspots.

Yep, has even happened to those who use Upload Later when at home, and they don’t noticed it until it’s been rejected.

@Jock93 When did you submit this and when was it approved?

december and approved last week

I’m thinking what could have happened is the community did start voting on this, but there weren’t enough votes to make a decision. So, it was moved to the staff review queue, and a human staff member then approved it. Either those in community review that did vote on it moved the pin, and staff agreed with the move, or staff moved it.

I have had nominations and edits that have sat in voting for months, then get decided upon by staff, with some being approved and others not. I think this gets done to keep the review times down, especially in areas with fewer reviewers or larger queues.

Being this isn’t in either PoGo or Ingress, if you do feel that the location should be where you originally placed it, you can request a location edit via help chat or using the Reporting Abuse link at the top of the forum. While this isn’t an abuse issue, you can report location issues via the web form if you prefer it over help chat.
