Pokéstop Photo Discs: Is it frowned upon to ask people to upvote your edits?

One thing that I like doing it updating low resolution or old Pokéstops that I see to give them a nice face lift. It’s just always a good feeling that I made something beautiful. The problem here is that most who play don’t know that they can upvote a submission so that the Pokéstop is updated.

That brings me to my question. Would it be an issue to get others to help? I’ve actually tried recently, but it gets pretty annoying asking the same people all the time, and I’d feel mu h more comfortable with like minded individuals who share my enthusiasm for this hidden feature. Thanks.

Yes, you can ask others to upvote your photos. Most do ask their friends or local community to help, while others may ask elsewhere, such as on Campfire or social media. Asking your PoGo friends to upvote on the gifts they receive is another option.

Since the gift giving is an aspect of PoGo play though, I don’t believe that you’d be able to ask others here in the forums to upvote, being you’d have to share your trainer code, and the forums are just exclusively for Wayfarer.

I think it would be great to have a VOTE sticker in PoGo to encourage players to vote on the photos, where I live there are plenty of players but few are interested in creating or improving the wayspots and some encouragement could be useful.

Some people use the Pikachu thumbs up sticker for this. Obviously it only works if the parties involved have prior knowledge of using it for this intention.

It’s definitely not frowned on to improve pictures - especially as some PoIs now are 10+ years old and phone camera quality has vastly improved in recent years! Lots of things need an update.
