Pokestop removed

Good morning. A few days ago, I filed a complaint at a Pokestop, asking for the renaming of this Pokestop. But what was applied is that the Pokestop was removed. Could you review it and please put it back where it was? I just filed a complaint with the data and explaining the renaming. The correct name for the Pokestop is “Santa Clara Health Institute”. This Pokestop does not interfere with the logistics of the health center, but rather benefits people who come for consultations and wait for hours to be seen, thus taking advantage of the waiting time to enter their Pokemon Go and spin the Pokestop and play. Please consider this appeal. I will forward possible photos of the Pokestop, and also the photo of where it was so that you can check.

I don’t see how this meets any of the 3 criteria to be a great place:

  • to exercise
  • to explore
  • to be social.

Giving people something to do while they wait is not a tenet of Wayfarer.

I have had a similar thing happen when I tried to correct a title for a rotating art display. They decided to remove the existing location instead of changing it, and told me to resubmit with the correct title. So they can decide to just remove one when brought to their attention. But I agree with @seaprincesshnb that I don’t see how yours meets criteria, and that is probably why Niantic removed it when it came to their attention.

I have moved this to General Discussion because it is not a bug.

Thank you very much for responding.

The simple fact that countless people pass by the place every day, isn’t that a good argument for having a Pokestop? I almost forgot to mention something that fits with what you’re saying, many people go for walks in the hospital area because it has a lot of vegetation and a place for people to run. I can send the photo. And the location on the map. I marked it in red on the map.

No. The fact that people walk by something has no bearing. The things we nominate go on a map. Then the games (plural, not just Pokemon GO) decide which mapped things they will use.

For an item to be on the map, it should be a designated spot for one of the 3 things listed above. “Walking by,” “while waiting,” etc., those actions don’t matter for the map.

A trail that is designated for walkingis good under exercise (and maybe explore). A gazebo or cafe is good under a place to meet up and socialize. A mural or educational plaque is good under explore.
