Pokestops get removed

Hi! I have been submitting stops for a while now. I moved to a new place some time ago and started submitting new stops here.

I know they are 100% eligable so they get accepted very fast. They appear ingame but some of them get removed after a few days.

Some of them don’t have any other stop/wayspot or poi in the area so I have no clue why they disappear.

My guess is that someone is reporting them just to mess with me.

Hopefully this isn’t the case and is there an explanation for this.

Thankyou all

Welcome to the forums.

You have two other threads with specific waystops. If there are ones that disappeared that you haven’t opened threads for, can you put the information in here?

When it was accepted as a wayspot, when you noticed it disappeared, details of the wayspot (title, description, location, photo)

If the wayspots were accepted several months ago, it is very likely they were auto-accepted by eMiLy and then removed by Niantic because eMiLy was accepting things that shouldn’t have been accepted. This also caused some legitimate wayspots to get removed.

Wayfarer staff do not remove Wayspots without a really good reason.

Were these by any chance graffiti? There has been a lot of confusion about these. Vandalism is not supposed to be accepted, but often the community will accept in error if they are used to seeing these as game locations. They will be removed when discovered.

There is a similar issue with bike route signs.

Hi

Thank you for the quick response. For now the two other threads I have are the only stops that have been removed.

One of those two spots was accepted two weeks ago and disappeared shortly after.

The other one was from a few months ago.

They both are eligable trailmarker signs, we have a lot of these around our entire country and these almost always get accepted.

Hopefully these stops can get added back

Thank you in advance!

No, no graffiti or anything else. I always make sure to take pictures that are clear without any people, cars or other things on them

I just saw your other posts. Bike route signs are also problematic. I will try to find a link to the ones staff consider eligible and edit it in here.

So, I had an similar situation happen to me that may apply here., I had a Wayspot accepted, and it showed up in PoGo for about a week. However, it was removed as it was in the same L17 S2 cell as another Wayspot that was already a stop in PoGo.

PoGo uses S2 cells to determine game play locations, and 1 Wayspot is allowed to be a stop/gym per L17 S2 cell. At times, some newly approved Wayspots will appear in an already occupied S2 cell, but this eventually gets corrected so that there’s only 1 Wayspot ih the cell. It doesn’t happen right away, and can take a few days to a week, so I’m thinking this could be the case.

More info on S2 cells and PoGo can be found here:

Being we do not have an accurate map to check Wayspots currently, the only way you will now that a Wayspot has truly been removed is to go to where the Wayspot was and open up the nomination map in PoGo. If an exclamation point appears, you can click on it and it will give you info about the Wayspot; if it’s yours, it would mean there is a nearby Wayspot that’s being used as a stop/gym in the L17 S2 cell already, and yours is ineligible.

Keep in mind that unused Wayspots do get used as Power Spots from time to time, so this could happen with any of your Wayspots that are no longer stops/gyms but are exclamation points on the nomination map. Wayspots that are used as stops/gyms will be marked with a blue stop logo (see the screenshot below for reference).

Perhaps Wayspot is still there and has just been moved, but it has probably been removed. The Wayspot submitted by the OP appears to be of the same type as the topic below.

Hi, welcome the forums. I have read your other posts. I am from the Netherlands so I see alot of bicycle trail nomination from Belgium.

First off, you mentioned you have alot of bicycle marker trails in your area, please do not bring these as a reason, wayspots are judged induvidually. Anything ingame can be wrongfully accepted. In short, don’t compare your nominations to existing ingame locations.

Secondly, bicycle markers, atleast the signs that only give a direction on 1 trail is not eligible. A statement was already put here from the team, make sure you understand it, if not please ask. If they are actual juction points, giving direction to multiple bicycle routes, then they are eligible,

Thirdly, the local community in The Netherlands and Belgium still submit alot of these spots because they get accepted by the community and see them ingame. Don’t be disappoined if other markers like these get removed. It is very common these days to see these route markers getting removed.

I hope this helps and please ask if you have any more questions.

Did you see the showcase from this week already?

Each person showcase might be different depending on region

If they were trailmarkers for bike routes, I even provided evidence that the signs used in The Netherlands (and Belgium) are not part of the standard street infrastructure, but are designated trailmarkers for recreational purposes (so not to get from point A to point B, but to promote exploring), however it looks like this didn’t change their mind)

I know you provided the evidence, but staff hasn’t responded yet to evidence. Which means they haven’t changed their mind about these so their old statement still stands.

I know, that is why I usually just skip these while reviewing, because I can’t in good faith reject these

Cycyling signs that do give one direction are acceptable, just like the ones whit a name on it.

To say multiple directions, are acceptable is ???, there are only the map cycyling signs accepted. To say it need to have multiple directions is??? i believe it need to be a designated trail and one direction. And need to have a official trail name, whitout it its just a nodes/junction

Can be i am wrong but ibelieve it is something like this.

You are right, my statement was a little confusing I guess. With multiple directions I mean an actual junction point like the top left photo.

Can someone link to a post from the team with official wording for bike routes being ineligible? You would think they are perfect for conducting exercises, discovering new places within your city, and who knows, maybe riding with new people. This would qualify for all criteria they have set up as their own rules for accepting or denying waypoints. I would rather have a sign for a bicycle route set up by the local city than graffiti that might be illegal and removed in a week or so by the city.

Read the statement that @cyndiepooh provided in the fifth comment of this topic.
