Portal removal appeal

Hi,

We discovered that our home portal has disappeared from Ingress, even though it still exists. I do not see any reason why it should be removed. This wayspot is not on private property, on the public sidewalk as shown in pictures. Please reinstall, thanks.

Even though the community loved these artistic fire hydrants and approved them at one point in time, I believe that Niantic is removing them when reported.

Thanks for the appeal, @rainglue. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.

NYC laws explicitly states that residents are not allowed to paint or otherwise modify or decorate fire hydrants.

NYC DEP has specific rules how fire hydrants should be painted and maintained.
