Please help in restoring this portal and the field that was created from this. It is a legitimate portal which was probably removed by mass fake reports to take down a large field.
He scan it using Scaniverse multiple times, so that’s mean place isn’t safe? like this many portal exists in India on Road, Should we need to remove all!?
I understand your concern about the safety of pedestrian access at this location. I would like to clarify that the portal in question, a bust located on the roundabout, is safely and easily accessible via the adjacent footpath.
The footpath is a designated pedestrian walkway that provides clear and safe access to view and interact with the portal without needing to enter the roundabout traffic. Additionally:
There are no safety barriers or signs restricting access to pedestrians.
The bust is positioned at a reasonable distance from the roadway, ensuring that interaction with the portal does not interfere with vehicular traffic.
Pedestrians frequently access this location for sightseeing, photography, and appreciation of the bust as a cultural or historical feature.
I kindly request a reconsideration of this portal, as it aligns with the guidelines for pedestrian safety and accessibility.
As an Indian from India, I can relate to the fact that this place is secure. Currently, there are multiple barrier surrounding the place for safety purpose, which is not visible on Street View due to the outdated scan.
As a result, the portal was recently removed due to a faction war.
Like this one recently removed due to faction war, and later portal (wayspot) restore but link not restore in Ingress.
Please avoid speculation as to the reason for removal.
The staff have all the information to assess the actual wayspot based on the evidence.
Please note it can take some time for a decision.
No one is speculating about the reason behind portal removals. The main issue is that it’s incredibly frustrating to come back home after a few days of travel, only to find that a link or field has disappeared in Ingress Prime. Someone had reported it.
Should we spend our time surveying whether a Wayspot is valid or invalid instead of enjoying the game while traveling?
If a valid Wayspot is removed, recovering it through an appeal leads to more frustration—especially with the additional effort required to rebuild links and fields.
Instead of engaging in in-game battles, we’re now stuck debating the validity of Wayspots!
As we say, “India is not for beginners.” Here, we create our own unique game dynamics!
I understand your frustration, however…
I have edited your post to remove accusations.
Please desist from making assumptions about the reason for the report/removal they are not relevant to assessing if your appeal which is solely around whether the wayspot is valid.
Any further similar posts will simply be deleted.
You have made your case Wayfarer Team staff will review.
Having an adjacent footpath is not enough for safe access. You need to be able to physically walk up to and touch the object in a safe manner, and Niantic has stated that for objects in the centre of a roundabout, they need to see some sort of marked crossing point to the centre of the roundabout. No such crossing point exists from what I can see on street view, and furthermore, there’s a motorcyclist on street view riding literally right next to the object, so it appears that there’s nowhere for pedestrians to safely stand there, as it is a road and they would get knocked down by vehicles.
I get your point but try to understand mine as well. You can’t blindly walk up to the objects. Some are unsafe because of traffic, some are inaccessible because the security won’t let you in. There are many portals which cannot be accessed even through your camera until one of the residents/employees approve your entry. This one can at least be accessed from the side of the road by absolutely anyone, independent of faction or agent.
There are people waiting for buses on the side from where this portal can be accessed. Access to this portal is a lot easier than many restricted portals. You have to pick the right time to get super-easy access(at least 12 hours when there is no traffic at all, go reckless and touch it then). Since most of the portals are on the roadside, being careful goes without saying.
Another point which might or might not be too relevant is that this is a small town with very limited number of portals. Somebody tried to get a few portals/pokestops/gyms to help the community.
@elijustrying Which is true in this case. I’d like to clarify that the portal location is indeed safe and adheres to the guidelines.
The area surrounding the bust is well-protected, with clearly marked barricades and defined boundaries to separate it from vehicular traffic. Additionally, there is ample space around the bust, large enough to comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. The safety measures in place also allow for activities such as watering the plants and cleaning the bust, demonstrating that the space is accessible and secure for maintenance purposes.

I hope this clarification addresses the concern and further supports the legitimacy of the portal.
Your video confirms that there is no marked crossing point to the centre of the roundabout, so you have proven that the wayspot does not meet the access requirements.
Looking at this i believe that portal is safely accessible from side walks. NIA is fine with portals inside society accessible to few group of ppls but they have issues with this portals.
I think it is a nice bust, but I don’t believe that pedestrians will always be able to reach that bust safely. If there are pedestrians who aim for that bust, at some point someone will be hit by a vehicle. By the way, I want you to look around you. There are Hindu temples, Islamic mosques, parks and libraries that are not yet Wayspot. I would like to recommend you to apply for these.
