As you can see in that garaje entrance is a portal, but in Ingress is “more inside” than the real location, the only way to use ultra (and is not centered) is to be in the middle of that entrance and is impossible because of cars, i report the location several times but did not change
It doesn’t seem safe to me to stand in a driveway for a parking garage fwiw.
If you have submitted a rejected removal report, you can make an appeal of the rejection in Wayspot Appeals where you can provide more evidence.
If you just need the location corrected, you can submit evidence to help chat at Niantic Wayfarer , but only to get them to correct the pin to the actual real life location, not to make it better for the game.
You can also use the “Wayspot Removals” form linked at the top here to request either of those things. That form can be used for modifications as well as removals. It will create an email chain. The only thing I don’t like about that form is that the removal reasons don’t match what I want to do most of the time. Just pick something, and then tell them what the issue is. If the automated response email asks for your credentials as property owner when you have checked that you are not, just ignore that one.
In case you can’t see those links in the format you are using to view the forum, here it is:
Yes, from this view on Street View, I can see that this is an entrance to an underground parking garage, so it isn’t safe for pedestrian access to me as well.
Thus is at -34.617779,-58.44704, for anyone else wanting to take a look. Otherwise, I’d follow the advise that Cyndie gave, going one of those routes to get it removed.
there is an entrance and an exit, so there is no place from pederestian access to stay, unless you play at midnight
imo you all are being too picky.
you can stand right here and be perfectly safe, and that’s less than the minimum distance you can move a pin in review.
Not to get a scan, and, if you remember, Wayfarer has said that we should be thinking about being in the exact spot that the Wayspot is located, not thinking about the game radius rules.
Cars coming in and out isn’t a safe location for pedestrians to try and scan this, which is an aspect of game play for some, while others may want to take new photos. Not very safe to be in the middle of the driveway down to the garage at any time, if you ask me.
Yes, but is a small access and the center of the portal is like 5 meters more inside. Is not being picky, with that way of thinking we can put every portal more “inside” so is harder for enemies to raid.
Also that spot i also use it but im in the middle between the resonator and the portal center. Unfair advantage.
Game play isn’t considered when it comes to where a Wayspot is located; this really is about whether or not it’s safe for a pedestrian to access, regardless of the game.
scanning isn’t a consideration either
anyway, I didn’t mention game interaction distance. I mentioned the distance a pin can be moved in review which is only 3 meters. this is maybe 1 meter.
not to mention it looks as though you could stand safely above it, and I’m old enough to remember a long ago clarification that vertical distance doesn’t matter
I don’t find moving the location to outside of the garage entrance onto the sidewalk to be accurate to the POI. Accuracy is also important, and the entire art piece is inside of the ramp to the parking garage; none of it is on the sidewalk.
sometimes rules dont apply to certain agents, but hey dont update pictures of portals or we will ban your wayfarer account xd
Game play doesn’t matter in tjis situation. What matters is whether or not the Wayspot can be safely access, regardless of any game.
My friend asked Andrew Krug that question. Here was the clarification:
Q: Kliffington - Regarding the policy that you must be able to reach out and touch a wayspot for it to be safe, does this disqualify objects/paintings on the outside of buildings that are too high to reach from the ground?
A: The policy page says “Regardless of any other criteria, if a nomination doesn’t have pedestrian access it is not eligible.” Height is not something that is explicitly considered. If you can safely reach the wall a mural is painted on, but the mural is 20 feet off the ground, that is fine.
That’s outdated information now, as per: https://ingressama.com/
Any clarifications regarding portal/wayspot criteria is outdated.
Please refer to the official Wayfarer criteria for all current criteria
Make sure you’re up to date with the current criteria and not using outdated AMAs from someone no longer at Niantic
I’m aware, thank you!
i see so many “murals” on buildings covering from roof to middle/bottom side of a building, i cant touch it, dont have pederestian access but is still a portal, yes everyone can saw it, but unless you are in the roof of next building, you dont have a direct access to it
