Post office point

Hi I would like to apply for a post office in my area which of these photos do you recommend I use (indicate the main photo and the surrounding photo) or how should I modify them to apply for wayspot. Thanks

Hello,

Personally, I like the sign for the post office as the main photo, but not the last one you posted, as that’s a little blurry. The sign can work as a place marker for the post office; the pin should be on the post office building, not the sign.

As for the supporting photo, it should show the sign with the surrounding area, so you have several options for that. I like one taken from across the street, but at more of an angle, so you can see the sign on the building. I also think the one from the sidewalk below showing the sign, buildings, and cars would work as well.

Keep in mind that photos you post on the forums are publicly searchable online, so you may want to take new photos so they don’t get marked as 3rd party, especially if these were photos you took above.

ould you tell me the name of the 2 photos that you would use exactly so I can make the request for wayspot. thanks

I don’t understand. Could this affect my wayspot application?

The forums can be easily searched online, such as on Google, Bing, or another search engine. Therefore, they may get seen as 3rd party for already being publicly accessible online, especially by ML, the AI system.

In the future, you may want to just post some screenshots from the location, if on Google Maps/Street View, or if they have a website share that to get help on how to best nominate.

I did as you suggested and they rejected the request.

Did you use the photos you posted here, or did you take new photos? What was the rejection reason?

I used the photos posted in the forum but I don’t think the problem is related to this because before presenting them in the forum I had already forwarded the request a few days ago.

It still could be, hence why most here do no recommend posting any of the photos one uses for a nomination, just the screenshots of the nominations from Contribution Management.

Personally, if I was asking for photo advice, I would maybe first see if there are any photos of the location already online, and share those as examples. If Street View is available, I’d also share some screenshots from than.

At this point, you may want to shart screenshots of your nomination if you believe there is something else that is causing the rejection.

I had already used the same photos that I published here for a request which had been rejected much earlier, that is, before publishing them I had already received the rejection response

anyway on google street view you can see it very well, I just didn’t want to use google photos to avoid this type of rejection

If you are more comfortable typing in another language, please feel free to do so. We have a translator here in the forums.

Again, you may want to share screenshots of your nomination at this point to see why it may have been rejected. It may not be the photos causing the rejection; it could be something else.

The main photo is too far away from the sign; it really should be closer up on it. You want your main photos to be free of as much background and foreground objects as possible, so the sidewalk and cars aren’t needed.

What is the main photo right now would work better as a supporting photo, as it does show the sign with the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, since you didn’t provide the title, can’t say if that needs any improvement. If not in the title, I would include in the description where this post office is located generally, such as the neighborhood or city it’s in, as there most likely are others just like this all over Italy. All of the post offices where I live are named after the neighborhood they are in, i.e. Downtown Post Office.

il titolo sono sicuro sia corretto appunto ha il nome della filiale

avevo gia provato ma niente

Again, don’t know what the title is, but you should include some kind of location indicator in the title or description. Like I noted, the post offices where I live have location indicators in the title and/or description, such as Downtown Post Office.

Also, having an ATM doesn’t make this meet any criteria, as those are very indistinct objects found throughout many communities. That doesn’t need to be included in the supporting info. The supporting info should prove why this meet criteria, which yes, post offices can be social hubs, so maybe expand on that.

ovviamente come titolo ho scritto Ufficio Postale - Nome della sede
