I’ve come across a few areas that have both a power spot and a stop in the same location, with the exact same name (ie. Church A has a stop and a power spot, both with the name “Church A”). Would these be considered duplicates? Or, since one is a power spot and one is a stop, would they qualify as being different?
This is a weird answer. It depends on the source. If the Power Spot was imported, then they are not considered duplicates. If the pokestop/gym existed and someone nominated it again and it somehow was not marked as a duplicate and became a power spot, then it should have been marked as a duplicate.
Clear as mud?
To add to the weird answer, you can report the Power Spot “duplicate” on the Wayfarer map as a Duplicate and they will get removed.
At least, that’s been my experience.
As @PkmnTrainerJ states, I recently reported an import powerspot as it was incorrectly located and also mentioned that the location already had a normal wayspot.
The import was removed.
