The building here was always a permanent Power Spot (it has been active for over a year and never disappeared, even during rotations). Recently, someone submitted a new PokéStop very close to it, and now the Power Spot is gone.
I understand that Power Spots and PokéStops need to be at least about 22 meters apart. Now that the PokéStop is in place, does that mean the Power Spot is permanently removed? On the map, I can still see it, but it says “used by other Niantic games.”
Should I request removal of the PokéStop, and would that actually bring the Power Spot back?

The community has observed that a Wayspot will not be used as a Power Spot if there is a Pokestop or gym within 22m of it. If you give me the coordinates of the Pokestop, I can check the distance if you aren’t sure. Sometimes a Power Spot not being used is just the luck of that month’s rotation, which seems to happen on the 4th or 5th of each month.
Wanting a Power Spot to return is not a reason for removal of a Pokestop Wayspot. Removals will only be made for real life reasons.

it just coincidentally as soon as that popped up the powerspot disappeared- it was in the same spot
Yes that would be the expected behavior. The imported Wayspot is within the 22m circle for the new Pokestop, so would no longer be used as a Power Spot.

No. They are not doing any more imports. I do not see any real world reason to edit the location of the Pokestop, and they will only do edits for real world reasons, not for game play. I also do not see any real world reason to edit the location of the import, unless it is to put it at the sign, which would cause the same issue there, since the sign is a Pokestop.
Is there anything else at the apartments that you could submit? Any common area, club room, picnic spot, something like that?
