Previously unsuccessful web submit uploaded 2 weeks later

  • Description of the issue
    A submission I attempted to make through the Wayfarer website two weeks ago came up with a “Something unexpected occurred” error and did not appear to submit. Today, I recieved a “Thanks! Niantic Wayspot nomination recieved” email for this nomination. On clicking the link in the email, I can see that the nomination states it was made on 2026-05-27 and is now in voting. The same information can be seen now on logging into the wayfarer website.
    The nomination was not previously on my contributions page before today but is now further down the list, next to other nominations made on the same date.

  • Date first (or most recently) experienced
    Submission was attempted 2026-05-27. Email recieved and in voting 2026-06-08.

  • Device type, model, and operating system
    Samsung S22, Android 16

  • Game & Game Version (if applicable)
    Wayfarer Web submission

Additional information:
I am currently outside of the normal submission range for the poi.
The wayfarer website had not been open on my device for a number of hours prior to recieving the email.
At the time of the upload issue, I was recieving immediate error messages when using Firefox and Chrome browsers but could instead successfully submit using the Samsung browser.

Due to not being aware this submission had uploaded, I did not have time to edit the text before it (rapidly/immediately?) went into voting and am now unable to add the supporting evidence and links I wanted to add to the SI.
If this is part of a bug fix for the previous error messages, it would be appreciated to enable a grace period to allow submitters to catch/edit new uploads they are unaware of before they go into voting.

Thanks for your feedback.

Nominations that did not upload successfully earlier were rejected. I see that our system made multiple attempts to retrieve the data and succeeded finally.

I see that your submission has already been approved. You can submit any changes that you see fit now.

Does that mean the “attempts to retrieve data” are still ongoing and I might have more of these previously unsuccessful uploads pop up? Or have all others been processed/rejected by now?

It’s an ongoing process. So, I can’t answer it definitively.

Piggybacking on this thread. I tried to submit 3 nominations today but all of those 3 dont appear currently in my contributions tab. Also, I did not receive any confirmation email. But during submission, it says my contribution was uploaded successfully.

Note: Those that did not appear was uploaded via phone browser. Should I just wait for it to reflect or should I reupload?

I see that one of the three has been processed successfully. The remaining two is in the process. Please wait for atleast 48 hours before resubmitting.
