Quem é esse Pokémon? ![]()
Welcome to the forums ![]()
The basics is that every wayspot must adhere to at least one of the key criteria: Exploration, Social, Exercise.
Restaurants can be difficult to get accepted, but most will need to have proof of being Social. Takeaway restaurants are not social places.
To show a restaurant is great for being social at, it helps a lot if it is popular and has great reviews, or has a unique feature in its area. A photo that shows the social eating area is almost mandatory.
Welcome to the forum! If you can post the entire nomination, we can have a look and offer some advice.
Hello and Welcome,
I am unable to get a good photo but is this the same place?
Unlike your photos this definitely looks to meet “Social” criteria, is it possible to get it looking like this but with no people in it.
Good Luck.

I wouldn’t jump to conclusions on ill will. Personally if I seen a photo with identifiable people in it I would reject under criteria.
What I would suggest is find out their opening times and be there a bit earlier if possible. That amount of seating outside looks like it is stored inside the premises when they close, so they need to be set up before opening the next day and chances are they will do that 1st before customers arrive.
If the staff are setting up, wait for the staff member to either go back inside or at least until they have their back to the camera, that way, even if you catch them in the picture they won’t be identifiable and I would include links to any Google maps (do not submit any Google images though - just the link to them) showing just how busy it gets to support the social aspect.
Also if they have any awards or if they hold any events there try to include that, if they have a FB page that’s sometimes very useful but don’t use any photos of FB in the submission as that will get it rejected and probably get you in trouble for 3rd party. Instead, just include that they do events and the link to Thier FB page and let the reviewers view it themselves.
They are tricky to get right but the more evidence you include the better the chance you have of a positive outcome.
Best of luck with it.
A: I replied 2 hours after you posted, it was not “a few minutes”.
B: Your photos do not show this looking like a “Social” place. My first response was “Take Away”.
C: I did a search by “image” and even though I found the 1 I posted I was not sure it was even the same location.
D: It is the nominators responsibility to show the nomination correctly, not for reviewers or staff to go searching for it.
E: I only did the extra search as you came to the forums and we like to help.
F: Please be respectful, with the information you have supplied so for the problem is with the nomination not Reviewers / Staff.
So now, lets start to help.
The photo’s does any favours. Everyone so far assumed this was a Take Away and I think you must agree this is the case.
You state this is in your neighbourhood, if you want the waypoint then returning and taking better images should not be a problem.
If you want advice before you re-submit please post the main photo, at least 1 supplemental, Title, Description, Supplemental Info and the Location.
Good Luck.
If you can’t get images looking like a Restaurant you may have a chance using the info along the lines of…
Title: Niely Pizzas - Eat In, Take Out, Delivery.
Description: Popular Pizza Restaurant with a Google Score of 4.x. Offers Eat In, Take Away and Delivery. (add any specialities etc).
Supplemental: Was only able to photo when closed which doesn’t make it look inviting but once opened there are plenty of seating inside and outside the front as shown at www… . This is when the place comes alive.
It will still be an harder sell then if you can show that it is “Social” with the main photo but might just work.

What rejection reason are you getting for these? If it was “automated process” then a human hasn’t even looked at it yet.
Any restaurant is a difficult nomination. “Generic business” is a rejection reason. The appeals team will often reject appeals of rejected restaurants with wording such as “We are unable to verify as per the nomination context how this shop is a locally longstanding/hyperlocal hangout/cultural hotspot significant to your community. We suggest that you add more information explaining why this shop is important for the local community in a new nomination. This can greatly increase the odds of this nomination getting approved.” So this indicates how significant to the community they expect a restaurant to be. Not just a place that you can eat with friends, but a destination. How you can do this will depend on what resources you can find. But you should have proof of some kind that it is important to the community. I think 5000 followers on Instagram could be a good start https://www.instagram.com/nielypizzas/
Speaking of appeals, have you tried using an appeal yet? We get two appeals, each on a 15 day counter before we can use them again. If you have, let us know what the team said.
Sometimes it can be easier to submit art located at a restaurant than the restaurant itself, but I don’t see anything from the photos on Maps that is standing out as an easy accept to me.
My self and others have given our time to try and help you. We are not staff, we do this for free.
It sounds like you do not want our help so unless the attitude changes I will make this my last post on the subject.
Your choice whether you want to take it onboard or not.
Up to now you have given us 1 photo of what everyone has taken to be a Take Away, Something that is not usually eligible.
We have not seen your full nomination or the rejection reason, therefor we do not know who has rejected this.
It is possible that the AI (Machine Learning) rejected it but personally I don’t think that would be the case. We are rightly not told what it actually looks for but the thoughts it is “I see nothing here that could be a wayspot”. It can make mistakes but IMO it is unlikely here.
Most nominations are voted on by local reviewers, players the same as you and me. It is quite easy for them to see “Take Away, Reject”.
A small amount go to “Internal Review” where it is reviewed by Staff.
The location is to position the waypoint once accepted. It should also be used by Reviewers to confirm you have pinned it correctly once they have confirmed that all other information looks eligible. Why would they think “I will Reject this as a Take Away but before I do that I will check the location”.
The location you add is not so reviewers can find information that you have neglected to include. What you are asking is for “Every Reviewer” to go looking for evidence so “1 Nominator” doesn’t have too.
This is your choice, we have given lots of advice where you have given us very little to go on.
If you do want our help then my suggestions are…
- Drop The Attitude.
- Show us the full nomination and the Rejection email so we can see how you can improve it.
- Take on board that if You want the wayspot, You need to put in some effort and not leave it to the Reviewers.
Good Luck.

If you want advice or other people to understand the problem, please post the wayspot details - title, photos, text, supporting. Without this, a lot of the context of your warning is missing and it’s impossible to take anything away from that.
Continuing to complain without doing this will be like whistling into the wind.

I don’t understand this comment. Did you get a flag on a post here? That is what we have been advised to do in the faq, and is just a way to keep the forum a positive, helpful space. You can read more about that here:
https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/faq
If that flag symbol you used means something else, ignore this.
