Query over warning message

@NianticAaron can I also request to be messaged of my account status I just made my first nomination after a year then it was rejected the original reason of reject was it wasn’t unique so I appealed it and the staff checked it turns out the pin went from beside lemon street to near the department of agriculture and now I am labeled to be abusive. :sob: I meant no harm and I don’t intend to offend anyone.

Hello and welcome @xkarlamae13x

I shall create a separate topic for your query so that it gets handled properly

I have a question though, do pins sometimes move on their own my friend who is active in wayfarer told me she had to withdraw her nomination several times because the pinned location wasn’t where she originally placed it.
But mine went here to there :sob: I didn’t realize and I have no intention to put it in a wrong location.

No, they don’t move on their own.

In your wayfarer account, the location shown for a wayspot while it is on hold/in the queue/in voting will not change. It will be the location at which you submitted the wayspot.

If you don’t pay close attention when submitting, you might submit at the wrong location.

During voting, whether by community decision or Niantic review, a wayspot might be accepted at a slightly different location than where it was submitted, but you only see this once it has been accepted.

Once a wayspot exists, it can move if someone submits an edit request which is accepted, or if Niantic move it after being alerted to an issue with the wayspot.

We’re those submitted via the app or the Webbrowser?

Nope. Its not possible. The only way i can think this can happen if you didnt put the pin manually and only rely on gps when you submit . ALWAYS manually move your pin to correct location so it will be 100% accurate as per your pinned location

via the Pokémon Go app.:smiling_face_with_tear: It’s been a while since I last nominated and I was careless to have not double checked.

From my experience there are times my pin moved away. I placed at the inner part then when I check at wayfarer it moves to the street part or the other side of the street. I know how dangerous it can get to be warned as abusive so I always withdrew the nomination until the pin appeared at where it’s supposed to be at.

Whoa! our avatars are confusingly similar - I thought the site was telling me I was typing, but I wasn’t.

There’s times too the pin moves like you put it there, then when you check wayfarer it’s different. I learned the hard way when I was given a warning. When the pin went at the middle of the street.

As people mentioned above, pins don’t move of their own will. What can happen is that people don’t realize they can adjust the pin while submitting in Pokémon GO. There can also be some misalignment between satellite images and line maps on Google. There are sometimes bugs such as one that happened recently where the map didn’t load during the Pokémon GO submission process and people couldn’t move their pin. But the pin will be where you put it while nominating in Pokémon GO or via the web submission.

Ah, that’s what my brain couldn’t find - the mismatch between ‘satellite’ and map view can be sufficient to cause this apparent move. Thanks

I didn’t know the glitches lately I haven’t been nominating since, only this one single nomination because I found the café unique, for socialization and exploration so I nominated it then this… I am afraid of the consequences. I humbly apologize for my mistake and carelessness. I promise to be more careful and to always double check my nomination. :smiling_face_with_tear::sob:

You should always double check from streetview/satelite so you will know how reviewer “review” your nomination. This will ensure the location is accurate and greatly increase your chance and reduce potential slip up

This is not true.

Well, just saying from my own experience otherwise I would’ve not withdrawn repeatedly my nomination just to get the pin right. One warning was enough for me.

Thats why you have to set the pin manually for each submission. The only way it kept on moving is when you dont move the marker to correct location and submit it where gps put it
