Question about duplicate pois active in game

I recently found a duplicate PokeStop and gym in game. The gym is older, but has a less accurate photo and location than the PokeStop. If I report the gym as the duplicate will it go away or will it delete the PokeStop because it’s newer?

Also I would like to add neither pois are sponsered.

I would report the PokéStop and submit an updated image for the Gym.
